That was the hardest **** part I ever installed. I got black powder coated finish and if you look at it real hard... The **** thing will scratch! Flat Black high 1500 f temp paint covers scratches fairly well. If anyone wants to install thunderheaders on an 06 dyna, you might want to send me an email. It took me about 6 hrs to solve the puzzle! Don't follow the crappy directions cause they aren't written all that well.
The pluses:
The things sound freakin awsome! In my opinion, they sound better than any of the dual pipes I've heard on other Dynas. The black powder coating cools down in less than 10 munites. The stock ones I had took almost an hour. pipes weigh about 20 lbs and I'm sure the stock ones are about 40lbs. Thus, I dropped 20 lbs off the bike. When I want...

I live four houses from the beach and I am having a real big problem with rust.
It keeps poping up in really hard to get places.
What type of spray or wax can be applied to prevent this?
Thanx

Fellow biker's,
If any of you are interested I Live in Quebec, Canada and our registration for Bikes are going up in price, currently to put a bike on the road for 6 months cost's $250.00 per season, our wonderfull government is raising this cost over the next 3 years to a woppin $1200.00. Yes you read right $1200.00 for 1 season so a lot of bikers are selling their rides because they cant afford to run them, they are going pretty cheap. Their is a website that currently has 9,000 bikes for sale check it out www.lespac.com also check out my clubs website, good pics www.motoclub.ca

Does anyone know the diameter of the stock headpipes on a 06 Harley? I am thinking 1.75", but not certain.

Howdy,
Well I just got back yesterday was gone for 12 days and logged a total of 2378.6 miles. We left NC up I-26 to Asheville then hit I-40. It was hot then but nothing like what was coming up later. Cruised steady on into Tennessee, stopping at Sevierville/Pigeon Forge to go to Smokey Mountain knife works. Personally I am a sucker for sharp pointy things and that place sure is full of them. MAde it through Nashville, stopping for supper at the Loveless Cafe. The Loveless is something of a Music City legend, best country ham and biscuits around. I always did like breakfast for supper. Made it on down to a state park about 100 miles out of Nasheville, Cuba Landing and sacked out. I got this really fine hammock for fathers day. Made like a real upscale version of the old jungle...
