JMO and I have no problem with added performance parts
to improve the bikes ability to move, however, still going back
to the original post and question about more power in 6th gear
uphill at 50 to 60 MPH, you are lugging the engine, you can't be
turning but 2000 rpm at 50 mph.

Accelerating up hill in 6th is going to put a lot of stress on the rod
bearings, basically it's going to beat on them and over the long run
damage them.... You don't have to hear chugga chugga, rattle rattle
for you to lug the engine, running it in a too low RPM situation
is bad juju. Remember again you have pistons big enough for a small
block chevy, in a two cyl V config engine with an odd firing stroke.

I don't care if you make it a 124 with Woods Cams, 650 lift, and
super G carb, you are going to still be lugging it at that rpm at that speed.

The RPM is a function of gear ratios not cam performace..

    Downshift....

Now if you want to make more power all these suggestions
are good, Woods, Andrews, SNS cams all good, you'll find
they all have benefits, head work, pistons, tuning all good.

But they won't change the fact that no matter what you do to the engine you are still at 2000 RPM in 6th gear at 50 MPH.....

Use your left foot, tap the lever and go.

he is 100. percent correct there is no reason to lug the motor and if you lug the motor with more cylinder pressure the big end of the rod is getting the **** beat out of it . and lets not forget its a full floating piston with a bronze insert it is made to be soft it will mushroom . and start to make noise when space is made never good to lug a motor.
