I pulled the plugs today and looked at them and they look like brand new very clean. I will at least get the download from the dealer to richen it up a little bit. Since the plugs look like it is running lean.

    Steve,

I understand that if your fuel is too lean you can cause your bike problems with the motor. They all have told me at the dealer to run a fuel box module.I have used two fuel modules so far on this 08 Streetglige.I have a V&H fuel pak and currently trying to get a pc commander 3 dialed in. Good Luck.

Did you ever get your PCIII dialed in on your Street Glide?

Hey Man!! No I gave up on it...lol...I put the Vance and Hines module on and its working perfectly. Not sure why the pc3 gave me so much ****, but I'm glad I took it off the bike...lol....there are others reporting 08 is a problem for pc3's on our bikes and stealers have even stopped pushing them.

Skull...you may have something there.Actually I think its where Harley is trying to make the bike to only perform properly with the stock exhaust or from Harley only.I would say in the next decade or less our nice sound will be gone.

:wtf: That sucks!!!Probably a bunch more will pick on us for loud exhaust. What pisses me off is the smoking cages that chokes the hell out of ya and stinks like hell, that no one has declared war on....A good sounding Harley is much better than the smoke.

(Not putting no one down)I see a lot of us who really mess with other people with our sound on purpose like stick it there face!!!Thats another thing I think may be causing us problems too.

Any hoot....I would say unless PC3 has a better idea to come up....stay away from PC3 with an 08 Harley.

No matter what Harley does some one will figure out a way to get around it. Thundermax is working on a fix for the '08 touring bikes. I was told by a service tech they hope to have developed and ready to bring out to Sturgis this summer. I think the thing that will get us in the future is the EPA on emitions and people that put straight pipes or drag pipes on their bike and make them so loud that it annoys alot of people. The people we annoy today will be the ones that go after the officials to crack down on noise . enough people complain and our Harleys will have to sound like a Honda's. There are Law enforcement people that have learned which pipes are stock and what are aftermarket and if you go thru their city and they hear and see anything out of the norm you get a fixit ticket for loud pipes no matter how loud they know that it is not stock.

yes we need to chill a little about getting our pipes in peoples face...lol....Honda's I owned in the past had some nice pipes...I had a 4 into 1 Supertrapp on a 1100F Honda back in 83 that sounded great and ran like hell....

    Throttle

YOU MENTIONED ABOUT HIGH R.P.M WHEN YOU START THE BIKE UP. I HAVE A 08 ULTRA. STARTED IT UP THE OTHER DAY, 2500 RPM. WENT TO THE DEALER, THEY TOLD ME WHAT TO DO IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN. START THE BIKE UP(AFTER YOU TURN THE THROTTLE ALL THE WAY DOWN). SHUT THE BIKE DOWN. HESAID TO DO THIS FIVE TIMES, UNTIL IT RESETS ITSELF. I BET THE STARTER LOVES THAT. HAVE FUN.:cussing:

    Re-map

When I Went Over Too The Shop The Other Day, I Asked This Question To One Of The Mech There. I Have A 08 Ultra. I Told Him That I Am Going To Take The Bike To Colorado To Breckenridge Too See My Brother. This Town In 12,000ft Above Sea Level. I Asked Him How The Bike Will Run. He Said That The On Board Comp Will Compensate For The Air Difference, Meaning The 02 Sensors Will Come Into Play. The Question I Had For Him Was. Then Why When Putting On A Stage One Kit, And Slip On Mufflers, Do You Have To Re-map The Bike. He Told Me That You Dont Have Too. Jst Another Way For H.d. To Take Money Out Of Your Wallet. Great Ha

What he means is the the stock ECM and 02 sensors will compensate a little for some changes, so the higher flowing filter and pipes (not open drags and an open element intake) probably will be fine.

Now just so you understand the bike is lean from the factory, so when you do this you only keep it lean or lean it out a bit more. More heat, more potential for detonation

If you want better mileage and performance a Powercommander, or SERT, or Fuel Pak will help.

the Powercommander and Sert allow you to change maps the SERT right in the ECM. However dyno tuning either on a good dyno or with a Daytona Twin Tech Twin Scan unit is necessary to get it right.

Ness big sucker and HD's SE kits are the top two

If you like the hyperchargers they flow as much as the two listed above (waiting for flurry of antihypercharger posts LOL)

I kinda like the hyperchargers remind me of the blower intakes on he cars with the flappers....

    Throttle Problems

I Went On A Run Yesterday, And The Throttle Went From 1000, To 2200 While I Was Riding A Couple Foot Away From The Bike In Front Of Me. Dealer Said It Is The Way The Bike Was Shut Down, Bull-****. 2 Hours Later, The Bike Still Surged From 1000, To 2200 Rpm. , Harley Knows About The Problem But Shutting The Bike Off And On Is The Bandade They Are Trying To Use...thanks

I have a '08 Ultra and have not had any problems with anything once I found out that it messes the thing up if you roll back on the throttle at an idle or rolling it back to cancel the cruise control. I also found out I should let it idle down for a second before shutting it down .

If the 07 is doing that you should get it into the dealer for a checkup,

I haven't heard of it doing that other than a couple of posts on the net, usually it starts and idles high when someone turns off the IGN switch with a thumb while the throttle is open at a higher RPM.

You should let the bike return to low idle then turn off the ignition.

Good Morning; Went On A Two Hour Bike Run Yesterday. Started The Bike Up, Ran At 100 Rpm. Five Minutes Into The Ride, The Bike Started To Surge From 1100, To 2500 Back And Fourth. Rolled Back The Throttle Everytime I Was Comming Up On The Bike In Front Of Me. Something Is Not Right, And The Shop Says That I Shut It Down At That Rmp, Who Is Kidding Who. Need A Number Of Hd, Mabey I Can Finally Have It Corrected Before I Am Slowing Down For The Car In Front Of Me, And The Damn Bike Wants To Run At 30 Mph.....thanks
