I don't disagree 100% with you on this but as you said, I am just not ready to buy an unmolested brand new bike yet. It does seem that your "buddies" riding style and mine differ significantly. Just because one has a big inch engine doesn't automatically mean that f as mileage suffers dramatically. It's how one treats his bike that plays into that more. An 88 c.i. can get just the same crappy gas mileage as that 124 that you speak of if things aren't cohesive.

I will not be using anything off of my old engine and I won't be putting any of it together. This engine will be built by the builder, assembled then shipped to me for install.

If these newer bikes are so good CB, then what was the reason or need to go into yours and change the things that you did after you specifically said that you weren't going to? We aren't that different now are we?

You don't have to buy new ECM on 02 because it's Delphi

You will need complete new electronics and a new tank connectors etc

I wouldn't go efi. Make it a carb bike. But you still have to change ignition etc

The worlds of EFI is definately great.

And if you ever come to it you will not go back to carbed.

Don't convert a Carbed to a EFI or convert a EFI to a carbed.

There is more than just the EFI,
There is the frame, larger rear wheel. Motor mounts ,transmission , compensator , clutch system and a whole lot more.

One day you will learn what I been trying to say.
But you got a lot of money to throw away. So enjoy yourself.

But why you sit and ponder, ask yerself, where are all the big motors everybody else built years ago.
Where are the bikes and why ain't they still riding them.

Go to the Big Bike Shows and see what everybody is riding.

Make reservations and come to the Texas Lonestar Rally, when its cold where you live.
Fly into Hobby airport and rent a Harley from Stubbs motorcycles and ride it down to Galveston and see if you can find a place to stay.
Ride up and down the seawall and go to the strand and go to Harborside.
Eat the food, see the vendors and drink the drinks and see what people ride.
It goes on from about 12:00 during the day till in the wee hours or morning.
Different things happen all day and nite.

I didn't know they made a 120R that would fit in an 06 and older, I thought the block was different for the 6 speed transmission hook up.

Case numbers are the same. The 96" engine is just a stroked 88".

All the 120R the dealer has been puttin in has been newer bikes.
You also got to realize the newer bikes has a better brake system on them.
The dudes with the 120R said they are having problems stopping the bikes .
And the dudes that are getting the 120R motors put in are not listening to them about they need to put a 2in1 pipe on the 120R motor neither. So all the money they spent they are not getting maxium HP put out.
The dealer was trying to get them to put a supertrap pipe on.

Know the brakes is just some thing else that is minor for you to replace.
Just like the swing arm system that flexes. Another reason they change the frames
    .
But why replace about every part on the bike when you can get a new model that its all already replaced. And you are not working with worn out stuff.

The dealer is also building some really good running 113cu motors too.

But they are doing all this on the newer bikes.

When I bought a new bike, I didn't care about the warranty when I did things to the bike. Cause I was gonna do what I wanted to do.
But I was looking for leaving some reliability in the build and something I can ride from state to state on and get some kind of fuel milage and not worry about breaking down.
And if I did the dealer could work on it.
That is another reason the SE bike with the 110cu motor is a great way to go if you can afford to put a lot of money down on one . And ride it.
Ask FLHT and Hotrodking why they got one.

Hmmm. There must be a big enough demand for the 120r for pre 07 bikes if they offer one for it. Each market is different CB. Just because one or two dealers mainly install the 120r in post 07 bike does not mean that holds true in other parts of the country.

Don't guess you heard the part about the older bikes not being safe enough for installing them. without upgrading the brakes and everything else. And then realize you still have single disc front brakes.
And by the time you start replacing everything. You are in the price of a newer bike.

Its hard as Hell for a older person to communicate with younger Kids dude.

When the younger kids can't hear. Their way is the better way to go.
They have a lot of sentimental stuff stuck in their head.

Sorry I was just tryin to help save some money and time.
    What do I know.

You are wrong. I do not have single disc front brakes. Mine are dual disc.

There is Lake Tahoe with beautiful women, there is the old Virginia City with the original Bucket of Blood saloon, mega restaurants bars and on Saturday during the rally in Virginia City there are topless women running around or on bikes. Then down in Reno, Sparks area there is a mega rally with vendors galor and gambling casinos with shows, more food then you can eat, more women, more bike events then you can ever see. If your into sight seeing there are some beautiful rides in the mountains and riding around Lake Tahoe full of restaurants and more beautiful women.
What do they need a harbor for?
