I cleaned up the carb and tried to remove the more restrictive plastic fuel inlet elbow but it broke right off.

    here's what I found:
    slow 45
    main 170
    N650

What jetting should I go back with? I'm plan to get the CV Performace kit, but not sure about jets to start with.

Here's what the motor will have:
    ported intake
    Stg2 NRHS ported heads
    free flowing headers
    1250 p/c kit
    SE 497 cams
    custom pushrods
    Dyna ignition

    Thanks,
    RC

Looks like a cool project bike. CV Performance also has a brass high flow fuel elbow for your carb. I have one plus a tuners kit in mine. They work great. Ken of CV Performance will advise you on your jetting - just let him know what all you're running.

Hey Johnny! It's the NRHS 1250 kit that comes with the forged 10.5:1 pistons. Not sure what the original comp was, but with any luck this badboy will feel like it has twice the power when I'm done:)

Your build is similar to what my build is on my Sporty. I will have to say that I am not overly impressed with the .497 SE cams as that is what I have in mine. If you are looking for more top end power, the .497 cams are really good, but if you want a little more, the .536's are better.

What exhaust are you running? I am running the Basanni Pro Streets, way better than what I first had.

Good info on the cams! I'm leaning towards bottom end torque on this build and not high RPM power cuz I'm more of a dragster nut who's on and off the throttle long before the fuzz notices:cool:

I really like the looks of the Bassnni PSs and they are proven to bring on the performance of your mods but I want a high and tight set of pipes that wont scrape in a corner, so I'm toying with the idea of making my own custom pipes using a x-pipe for back pressure.

Sounds like your riding style is different from mine, but how far do you need to lean over? It sounds like you would like a 2-1 exhaust?

Yep, you're right I do like the 2-1s a lot and I prolly wouldn't rub the pipes on the road very often.

Here's the pipes I'm gonna try to make:

You can buy pipes like that for a reasonable price.

I've looked high and low and the closest thing I've found so far are the Hi N Tight pipes by Spitfire and while they do look good and are cheap they are way too generic for my taste. I really like the custom tucked in look that I don't think I'll ever find off the shelf, but if you know of some pls let me know cuz that would save me at least a month of fab time:)

That's cool. I'd never guessed that they were glass, but make sense cuz you can mold that stuff a lot easier then beating on an old piece of metal and it will never rust:D
