I made some changes including setting the Dyna Ign to the most aggressive curve bringing in the advance the quickest and I added Roland Sands drag bars and 4" springs under the seat. Also, put in synthetic M1 20w50 motor oil, so it's now finished and ready to enjoy:D

The low bars feel much better the the T-bars did. The T-bars just didn't give me room to stretch out much, but now I can:)

I can't think of anything more to change so I'm just gonna ride it! I plan to take it to a show or two and see if I can win a trophy:cool:

Nice work, Cap't. If you're not going to run a front fender, you might consider shaving the lower legs sometime in the future if you're gonna enter it in shows.
I did mine by hand and they came out pretty respectable. Took 2 days for each leg. Band sawed the bulk of the unwanted lugs, then rough ground then to within a 32" or so, then clamped 'em in a vice and shoe shined them with 60, 80, 120, 180, 220, 400, 600, 1500 grit emory sheets, then polished with 0000 steel wool. If you want them glass smooth, use a buffing wheel after the steel wool.

Shaved legs will help you get that trophy. :D

JMO but a very minimum fender will do a lot to protect finish on the rest of your hard work. Really nice job btw.

Good to hear your bike's running good...after a couple of rides in the rain ,you'd probably appreciate a front fender;)just a small one to deflect the rooster tail from the front wheel:D

I wonder how one gets the old lining out of a gas tank . . .

I can tell you how to get most of it out. I used ball brgs and thinner, but couldn't get into the corners, so I took it to the nearby HD dealer and they had a really bad a$$ chemical treatment that ate the old liner then they installed a new liner. The chemicals cost $60.00 and they charged me $40 in labor;)

I had to ride in the rain a couple times last year without a front fender, and a short rear fender. It wasn't too bad. Always had a wet streak up the middle of my back LOL. You and your bike get wet with or without fenders.

Once I rode in the rain with Tattoo and a couple of our buddies to a biker party. We were all riding bobbers or choppers and pulled in all bedraggled and wet. It was cool. Sun came out and dried us off in about an hour.

True, in FL if you ride then you'll get wet but it's always worth it;-)

Yeah, I think it rains more in Fla. than here in N.C. We often have drought conditions here. Gets so that we aren't allowed to water lawns or plants at certain times of the day. Or burn trash. So far, we've had a pretty wet spring.
