It's coming right along, CC. I had to do a half dozen or more mods to my frame as well. Try to have all your ducks lined up before you paint! Good luck!

Very nice color. Don't forget to shave away paint where the motor contacts the frame for a good ground.

Thanks, I didn't realize the motor needed grounding where it contacts the frame. Will I need the motor grounded to the frame at both the front and rear contact points or is just the rear enough?

Looking good:cool: I was wondering about paint on frames and chipping...had to look up catalyzed clear coat....clear coat with hardener in it...pretty toxic stuff from the info I found....

Yep, It's not something you wanna use unless you have a respirator & well ventilated area to paint in, but it's the nicest finish you can get w/o having to buff and polish. Just shoot and you're done:D

Yes. Besides the grounding factor, you really don't want paint between the contact areas, anyway. And especially since your paint is so thick.

The way I did mine was to set the motor in the frame and just drop the bolts in to line it up, and then outline the areas that need to be removed with a box cutter or some such sharp tool. Then take the motor out of the frame and remove the paint with said tool. Some guys just use the blade. When you put the motor back in permanently, you will not be able to tell you had trimmed away the paint.

Also, if you got paint in or on any threaded areas, they will need to be cleaned up with a tap or die.;)

Thanks! I thought about going with white on the fender, but after going back and forth on it I finally decided it wouldn't stay white very long on the underside which will be visible from the rear, so decided to stick with the frame color on the fender too.
