Its a pretty advanced unit much like in new cars with touch screen and
it's hooked to the ecm and pulls data on the bike, the oil and air temp
are now part of the radio functions.

it's not just an 8 track LOL

I think technology is advancing too quickly, especially in the field of electronics. Things get obsolete before you hardly break them in . . .

It just doesn't seem like things are made to last as long as they used to be. Obsolescence is built into them on purpose. Some people buy a new computer every 3 or 4 years.
But I also see it in the small things. Take a wooden clothespin, for instance. I have some from 30 years ago and some brand new ones. The older ones had bigger, thicker springs and thicker, better quality wood. Now you pay more for the newer, dinky, cheaper ones. Less product for more $$$. GRRRR!

Back on track, I'm riding to the Harley dealership as soon as the rain clears up to get a look at the newer models. If they have any poker chips, I'll pick one up for Cowboy.

My wife and I looked and sat on the new ones Sat., nice improvements in the seat for rider and pass. Rear seat is 1" wider and 1" deeper with more cushion in the backrest driver seat is deeper coming farther up your back also. Latches and hinges on bags and tourpac are very nice I thought. Jukebox to plug in to a USB port is nice. I liked all the changes but not going to pull the trigger on a new one just yet.

I had been reading where the hinges on the older bikes were always breaking, so that is a good improvement. As for the thicker backrest & seats, well, as we get wider we need more cushioning I guess LOL. My sprung seat is 1" thick, period.
