HarleysLR, you look to be in pretty good shape for an old man LOL. BTW, the postage is on the way. I got carried away over the weekend and put my new risers and bars on with the old rubber bushings before your solid ones got here. I don't know what the flap was all about - the new bars feel the same as the old ones vibration wise - only taller and way cooler now! I really like the arms being up higher . . .

Yea I never noticed any difference n the solid mounted or rubber mounted. I had them on an 85 evo low rider it vibrated so bad you couldn't tell what was behind you out of the mirrors.

I can see pretty well out of my mirror, even with the taller bars. And I didn't know an Evo could out vibrate a shovelhead!

Harley nearly quit making the Road Glide several years back.
They throwed every bit of advertising out that they could to give folks the fever.
Know some guys that has been riding over 40 yrs that went out and bought one.
Only to wait a little over a year and they sold them and went back to a Ultra.
I tried one several times a year for 3 yrs. Just couldn't git used to riding them all the time.
And HD didn't make one for a year to get folks hyped up again.

Sorry they just don't do it for me.
Think I will stick with my Ultra Limited. Like the way it rides a lot better.

And if you are not used to the weight of a bagger. You got to ride one and learn how to handle the weight.
After you handle it for a while, it builds up your strength and you don't notise it very much anymore.

If you don't like a heavy weight bike, mabe a metric bike is for you.

Can't agree have had both RG is much better ride, with the fixed faring is way more stable, there is no pressure on the faring on the bars, you never hear of a RG getting unstable.

I can set the cruise at 60, sit back with my hands off the bars and ride miles at a time, through curves, over bridges, to grandmas house.....

Both are nice and both have a good following, but I like the space created by the RG dash between my gut and the gauges. the others seem smashed into my face, probably because I'm used to the RG and Softails.

I am in this camp as well. Had a lot guys tell me at speed it is the most stable bike in the line up. For whatever reason never really rode one. When I travel have rented street glide and Ultra, never road glide. Just don't feel it.

Keep thinking about adding a touring bike to the stable, not gonna let my softail go, but can't seem to pull the trigger.

The next bike in my stable will either be a 62 XLCH or a 66 XLCH.

I pretty much like all bikes but there are a few exceptions. I am still going to wait to really comment on the new Road Glide until they are at the dealers. I think I am even going to take one out for a test ride.

I talked with MOCO execs during Laconia bike week and the RG was discontinued to retool the fairing to accomadatew the new touch screen.

Personally the bigger front wheel 19" looks like chit to me. I thought 17" was pushing it.

I think it's a mistake to use any of the electronic gizmos while riding. Or are these meant to be utilized when parked? I don't know, it just seems wrong-headed to divert attention from the road to operate a touch screen or whatever, and at the same time take one hand off the bars. Am I missing something here . . . ?

I agree, many people who ride are not really riders at all, I have a radio on my bike but never turn it on, but then again I don't turn the one on in m y truck either, nothing as against music I just don't need it.

So Harley temporarily discontinues a popular bike just for the sake of a touch screen? Jeez! Another reason for me to hate the new tech. It's gone bonkers on all fronts.

actually you don't have to take your hands off the bars
the new radio can be controlled with a button for the left thumb
to operate, similar to the old radio, I doubt I reach up to
do anything on the screen with the HK on the 011 other than
turn it on and off, that's it.

As a long time rider and most of those years on bare bones type of Harleys I found the music just added to the experience. As far as fussing with the electronics...everything is able to be controlled on the handlebars w/in thumbs reach from the grip. Takes minimum to no distraction. I can be jamming in high speed heavily congested traffic and change the channel or lower the volume just by moving my thumb up or down on the little knob w/out having to take my hands off the grips or taking my eyes off the road. My only regret is not having bought a music ready bike a long time ago. I also have GPS and that should be set up and activated while parked but has so far been a God send.

OK, here is the correct info.

I bought a 2014 CVO Ultra a week ago. See the picture below. Have to tell you I love it. There are many things that the touch screen won't let you do when riding. You do have to program what you want before riding.
The Bluetooth capabilities is simply fantastic. I have music on my cell phone and with a simple touch to the screen it will play and charge the cell phone while riding. Once I turn it off it will revert back to the FM radio station that I have pre-set but with a quick touch I can be right back on the music on the IPhone.
The GPS is simply fantastic with the large screen. The two things I don't like is one the push to talk button for the CB is now on the right handle bar. Makes it to hard to push the button while you have your hand on the throttle. Second thing is I can't change to helmet speakers or outside speakers while riding. Old system there was a switch on the dash that was very easy. Now I have to stop and turn the ignition switch to off but leave the power switch on the bars on. Then go into setup and switch it. Should be like the old system with a simple flip of a switch.
The bike does handle much more nimble than my 2012 did. Stock power on the 110 is very good. I will order a header to get rid of the Cat. Kept my old V&H mufflers but the stock are not to bad. Quieter yes but not bad.
The new seat is a bit taller but does not bother me that much as I'm 6'1".
I love the color of it, course I'm partial to red anyway. Lots more options that come with the newer CVO over the old ones. Passenger space is much improved as are
    the trunk and side bags.
OK, you can throw the dirt but have to tell you its a pure joy to ride.

Very cool. Might be a way you could change the switch for your speakers.
