Good luck on the carb rebuild. Really like your scooter! I agree with the others as well: stock & stripped would look very good indeed and if you ever decided to sell, it would fetch a better price. I looked through my books and they say that all the Harley models for 1973 were birch white. I never liked the white Harley's. One little pic showed the AMF logo on the tank of the FLH with some blue & red trim on the tank and fenders. I like the color scheme of your bike much better, even if it isn't the original paint.

And it's gonna look great, too. Check out WHEELSTHROUGHTIME.COM if you'd like to see some cool video's of Harley restorations. The museum is located right here in N.C., probably not far from you. Awesome place to visit.

real exciting when i went to tighten the chain...
3 out of 5 lugs on the sprocket were showing at least 5-6 threads.
i am tearing it down slowly, so i can still ride. i get quite a few double looks.
i hope it isn't 'cause i look like a clown...
just a couple stripped pics...still not sure how it's going back together.

i love this bike...great ride this holiday, but no charge to battery :mad:i also had a .25v drain from + to unhooked ground chassis. found the drain coming from the battery cover...placed teflon sheeting over battery and the drain is gone...yea. pulled regulator off and found that the last mechanic had pinched the battery lead, bare wire against mount. repaired, and as i suspected, still no charge. i found a new 32 amp system for $115 shipped. i believe the stator is still good, so i am considering only using the new regulator until i tear her down this winter. please chime in with opinions on that...
