Yes, and besides that, the manuals aren't always accurate. Mine told me to torque the crankshaft nut to 440 ft. lbs. LOL.

Leave them just like they are . Makes it harder and takes longer during the buid to set the valves and move forward with the end of the build. Dip them in oil as you install them set the valves . Pull the plugs spin the motor over . Put them back and fire it! If you pump them up by hand with a push rod. It will take them things a half hour a piece to pump down . That's a hole. Lotta time to adjust valves . Remember ya can't spin that motor to the next rotation till they bleed off . Bad juju happens!

This weekend I am going to get my sportster fired up and ready to go. I have to change the primary chain tension shoe and then I am as good as gold with that. then from there I am going to get the inner cam bearings pulled and then the new ones installed. Trying to get the small things done and out of the way. :D

make sure you install the innes with the numbers facing out you will see that the bevel on the bearing cage is different and a little beefy on the number side for you to press them in . pay attention so as not to push them in to far . attatch the installer to the front of the case . with the old bearings in place run the installer threded rod all the way In and mark on the installer shaft with white out on the threds as to how deep they sit . then when you go to install the new ones you know how deep to press them in .

Considering that it is April and our weather people are still predicting snow, I have haven't been all that excited to get out into the garage and get my bike back together. All is done and ready to go except for the ambient temperature. Well, I have taken some time off of work for next week and to hell with it, it going to go back together. Bad thing is, my camera is broke so I am not sure that I will be able to post any pictures... :roflmao::roflmao:

:roflmao::roflmao: It would be I guess. Oh well, there are a few people that are riding into work and they are asking where I am with mine and I just say, "well, since there is still a lot of sand and salt on the road< I think that I will wait a bit yet." I will rip around on my Sportster over the weekend, that will get the bug out of m y system...
