I used to watch how they kickstarted the panheads, ironheads and shovels. I think a lot of 'em showed off by kick starting their bikes AFTER they had been warmed up LOL.

Sure has. There's one of a 12 year old girl kickstarting a shovelhead - just barely - and no doubt the motor was already cleaned out, choked and warmed up. But some of the other ones are morons, or as we say around here: mow-rons.

Today I will be focusing on getting the small items prepared to go back together. I have to take a two hour road trip down to Faribault HD to pick up an S&S outer gear drive Key. Long story....:rolleyes::D One of my connections came up big for me but was close to disaster. I will be setting up an 8 ft. table that I will be able to place my parts and tools on so I have everything out of my way/ I will even clean the leaves out of the garage too... :witsend: Next Thursday, I will be home from work for the following two days for a total of 4 to get this bike back up and running. I am sure that I will have the bike up an running by Friday, providing that there are no unforeseen issues like piston to valve issues or deck height issues. I am really excited now. :D

I completely know what you mean dude. I am so tired of this winter already that it has spawned conversation with my wife about moving out of Minnesota and to a more tropical type environment. :banghead::banghead: It is sleeting out at the moment!!!!!:banghead::banghead:

You are not old enough to remember that, but some of us do... :D

You will understand what the deal is when you fire it up after
putting your effort into the build, wrenching, getting dirty, greasy
fugging up, fixing it and putting on the final screw, thats when your
system kicks in and you'll want to fire it up, you'll get the brain going
wondering if you did it all right as you go to hit that start button hoping
you didn't miss or screw it up and then it fires and idles....

Kinda like the ol saying if you don't experience it, you can't understand it...

Today I got out to the garage, cleaned the leaves out of it, organized tools, staged them and also staged parts in preparation for the reassembly on Thursday. Get ready for a lot of pictures on the way. for Part II is about to begin. :D
