I check out DTT site...Heh,another Florida guy:)Place seems like a motorcyle Mecca....
That module appears to be like an ECM for carbs:cool:

Did you get the optional USB interface and then back off a couple of degrees where it was pinging or did you select another curve with the switches??

Lucifer, the MAP is Custom that BP got from a buddy of his. We used the cables so I can't just go to their site. The software shows nice tables of what the MAP looks like, but does not show information in real time.

Earlier in the thread, maybe about 30 posts back or so when I first mentioned that I was getting some pinging, BP posted what the custom MAP is for the ignition. That MAP is based off of the ignition being set at 5 initial and 5 advanced on the switches. That is DTT's stock timing settings for an 88. I since have backed the initial off to 4 which only changes the curve by 2*. I think that it is money and just need to get the fuel right. Soon time will tell as I have the appointment set for tuning. I have decided to take HRK's advice and use the Woods Performance needle and his jets so Derek can fine tune the AFR.

HRK & BP have been giving you real good advice and help...A little fat on a new build is not a bad thing...when broken in,then you dial it in for performance:D

Maybe you can post the sheet when you get it tuned:D

I guess I missed it, you are having issues??? :D Yep, those rags cause a lot of undetectable damage. I would redo immediately.

The thing that I am absolutely impressed with is that when I am out riding and holding solid at 2500, and even at higher rpm, the engine in no way is working hard. It sounds like it is breathing with absolutely no problems and producing the power that was intended.

What kind of dryer sheets? I like Snuggle. :roflmao:

21's are very mild cams made for light builds ie just a cam replacement

    Yep....

Yeah...did quite a bit of reading on a 21 in a 95" AKA "Minton build" and thought,Hmmm...good off the line, decent passing power and dang near stock....just a cam and thin head gasket...It does do as claimed, just doesn't pull as hard as I'd like when I whack the throttle at 3-3500 RPM's even though I owned a 96/103 SE dealer build all day...wasn't sure if it was the bike or just the loose nut on the handlebars;)

JB...seems like the combo you put together might be a little more like what I like....

There is a thread on HTT that is going which was started by me about the review of my cams so far. There is another guy there called Dynaglide that PMed me awhile ago asking to let him know what I thought of them in comparison to the Andrews 37's. His write up is interesting but no where near precise. Might want to check that thread out as he compared it to a total of 3 cams with different conditions and various set ups.

Yesterday I finally was able to give my Road Glide a really good bath as it stunk really bad..:roflmao: It even got a really good wax job so I could show off those sexy legs, now it finally looks like a "HOT BIKE!" :roflmao:

Anyways, I pulled the plugs as I took out the Auto Lites that were in it and I put HD plugs back in, regapped to .038". I took a look and these things are just perfect looking so I do think that the I am on the right track with the timing. Time will tell though. I have over 1000 miles on now so Hot Rider and I are riding two up more. Last night she was with me and she was hanging on a little tighter. For the first time ever I even heard her say for me to "BEHAVE":roflmao: Now that is a testament to that there is more power there!:D

No worries. I was just going to tell what I what I was seeing with the plugs. Other than the tuning I do think that we are spot on and I and do not have to touch anything. I went over all the accessible bolts and all is tight. the oil was so clean that felt bad changing it but hey, why not?

A lot of miles coming up for me here in the following week and now I will be taking record of fuel mileage to get an idea of what that is doing. Just more information for Derek as it goes on the dyno. :D

Well if the oil was very clean chances are the assembly was put together very clean . Those dish pan hands pay of eh! Also it not too rich and washing the cylinders with fuel and turning the oil black from unburnt fuel . Very good jhonny boy!

Just curious, why do machinists think that they clean the cylinders? The guy who cut mine said that they were ready to go. Remember how dirty they were??? :roflmao:

Clean to them and clean to me are very diffrent . Imagine at fresh start up how bad that would have been for the rings! And piston skirts . Dont ever trust when any body says they are ready for assembly . They are ready when you wash them . These guys allways say they are clean . Bull shacka!

I'm think when you take it to the tuner,he's not going to have much tuning to do:D Oil was very clean at a 1000 miles....musta been a surgeon in da house during assembly;)Great stuff JB:cheers:
