Believe it or not I agree with CB, even SNS agrees with him, suggests autolites for HD bikes better plug.

The new bikes have knock sensing in the program so you have to be careful what you run the HD plugs do well but the HD SE plugs 32186-10 have been dyno tested by a lot of tuners to help keep the ion sensing system in the Delphi bikes from bringing in the knock program and pulling out timing, 5 to 7 degrees or more, kills power.

The 32186 plugs seem to keep that from happening so CB next time you change plugs go that route. Just changed mine out for a new set the old ones look good but I like to have fresh plugs once a year.

The stock plugs in my SE run very well, no need to change to a different brand.

I like to change my plugs every riding season. I use Champion RN12YC plugs, recommended for shovelheads and the best wires money can buy, also recommended for double fire shovels (one short, one long). I guess everyone has to use what's best for their particular model bike.

Ok, lets get back to the thread topic. I finally downloaded the DTT software that is offered free from their site and I have viewed the tables that it shows me for the MAP that BaggerPaul installed to the module. The following is the graph and the following is the numeric table. I don't understand it 100% yet so I will let BaggerPaul explain what is going on with it.

map sensor vacum tables are shown most vacum created by the motor closed throttle .would be 16 - max map (wot) no vacum throttle wide open . 30 . top to bottom left side of column . right to left self explanation .0-7500 rpm . its not an alpha n input because there is no tps input to the module . so its input to the module is based on manifold pressure and vacum . as vacum is decreased from the intake timing is corrected . as vacum is created timing is corrected . being there is no other input other than the crank position sensor and manifold absolute pressure sensor . tunning is quite tricky so its best to start with a safe map and tune under load on a dyno . there is no feed back as far as temp is concerned . so be carefull when playing with timing on a carb twin cam! p.s. the notes at the bottom of page are defaults and do not pertain to johns map

I do want to say that this MAP was made when the dials on the physical module dials were set at 5 Initial and 5 Advance. Since then, I have backed the Initial timing physically on the module dial down to 4 and I feel that I am running better here. Keep in mind that when the MAP that BP installed, it was only 35* outside, once it warmed up and pressures started changing, an adjustment was called for as pinging was happening.

    BP, thoughts??

When you upload a map settings are to be set at 5 5 so you can now change the uploaded settings made to the custom map .and only that map built . To go back to the original 5 5 you must load 5 5

maybe its only the first time ive done this . i had him very convinced that ive done it in the past ! but i hope he did not notice im a novice . i think he will be a tad lean at 5.500 rpm maybe 13.8 but i would leaave it be at that point he will get more mph that way and not hurt a thing im betting he will get one horse per ci out of the first pull no tunning. maybe more

there is more in it then that its up to the tunner.if he whants to set it on kill or not . he should know the powers in the cam and heads and exhaust the piston size dont come in to play all that much it will gain ya torque by cubic inches for sure but its all in the correct combo . and i think he did a great job in picking the correct mix he got alot of good gray beard help off the forum htt and builders .he went kinda conservitive on the cams but they run good i might have to get a set for the dyna till the big motor goes in they rip off the bottom for mouse cams . those red shift 557 run out dam good for what they are . and quiet as hell you cant hear that motor running . if it was not for the exhaust you would think it is off . and for gear drives its quiet !

What you don't know or see is the ECU taking timing out, have to run with a TTS or SERT and do some recording on hot days or under load, you'll find the stock plugs tend to send a false detonation signal, timing comes out and power drops.

Switch over next time to the ones I posted it will eliminate that problem.

I have to say that I am really looking forward to getting my bike back. I am just really curious as to what kind of power that I am making and how he did with the tune. I am going to go and see him here in just a bit as I want to drop off a jump drive for him so he can put what the final MAP is so I can post for everyone. I will be there in about an hour. :D

Well, I just got back from MCC and had a sneak peak at what my bike is showing for power. I have to say that I am not happy with what the turn out is at all. Not what I was expecting. :( I won't have the bike back yet until later today or early tomorrow. Will post sheets then.
