When I spoke to the shop doing the work I specifcally asked how the finishing workwas going to be and they had said that it was going to be "purty!" :D Hey it was a knothead thing that I did. I guess I will make sure that I am paying closer attention to the grip. I am about to leave for my Indy's shop now to pick up the cams. All will be done soon. :D

    Yep !

When I was younger. we was workin on bikes.
I was drinkin Some Jim Beam
Decieded to back the car out of the garage.
Cranked he car turned to my right to look out the back window and let the clutch out. It started and died. I cranked it back up and let the clutch out and was having to give it some gas cause it was straining.
Turned and look and I hadn't shut my drivers door.
It was against the front fender and was against the side of the garage wall.
It wasn't gonna come out with the door in the way.

It was a lesson for me.

Pay attention to what yer doing when you go out with Jim.

Oh, that's funny! I broke my guitar once because of too much Jack & coke (not the drink). Haven't busted a guitar since quitin' 'em both - that was 30 some years ago!

CB, The heads are still in the shop. Hoping to get 'em next week. The guy is milling down the long guides on the rear head and had to replace several rocker box studs, and all the valves & springs. Of course, he's also lapping the guides and doing all the other things that need to be done. He's taking his time and that's what I want him to do.

Oh yea, I wouldn't want to rush a dude building my bike.
That might be a reason to over look something or Disaster.
Thanks for finally letting me know.

I will. Just curious. If I got those heads sand blasted to get the powder coating off or a blast cabinet, when those get re-powder coated, will I see pit marks and have a rough finish? I would like it to be smooth as silk finish. :D

I also have been looking around on sites such as Del West and Manley and unable to decide on who to buy from. I am searching for titanium keepers and retainers. Most people on forums really like the Del West but for cost reasons prefer the Manley. Decisions.:banghead::banghead:

I suppose either way you go will be fine. You shouldn't see any difference in the surface texture of your heads. The powdercoating is fairly thick and should fill in any pits left from sandblasting. I have read that powdercoating or chroming certain engine parts will make them run hotter. Don't know if it's true, or even if it's significant enough to make any difference.

I've seen glass beads do a smooth job on the inside of combustion chambers. Didn't know you could knock paint off with them, too. Specially something as tough as powdercoating.

I've heard that too, don't know if there's any truth to it though...I've been told chroming brake calipers causes them to retain heat, but i don't know if it's enough to make a difference in performance, especially when you see a ton of chrome calipers on the market.....

I've done a couple of sets of barrels and heads with glass bead in a cheap blaster.....did a nice job:)

I guess I am not worried about the effects of powder coating as I look at it this way, if MoCo is confident enough to put powder coating on their heads from the factory, then I sure as hell am as well. Not too worried about heat I guess is what I am saying.

I think that this what I am going to do BP. I have access to a nice sized Blast Cabinet. Of course I would have to have the gasket surfaces covered just to not screw that up. Aluminum ox first, then the glass.:D

Now that I have sold my Andrews Cams, I am gearing up to pull the trigger on my CV 44mm carb that I am going to need. Now this is exciting. I don't think that I am going to order it from my home dealership though as I am not sure that I want the hassle of them ordering me a 40mm....:roflmao: I think that I may have to cash in on a source that can get really good prices on Genuine HD stuff.
