I know this is a bit off subject, but it is a belt question. I have a bit over 40k miles on my 03 Dyna, How long should the drive belt last? I hear tell about 30k miles. Am I due or what?

I broke my drive belt at about 59500, it just broke & fell off , just riding easy ,, My bro-in-law had 61K on his 00 dyna & changed it out when he had a lot of work done on his & it still look's good , he saved it for a spare

We were on a large chapter ride last summer and I had to put this over weight stupid guy on the back seat cause his belt broke. He knew it was bad as he said it had cuts in it. His excuse was he didn't have the money. God it was all I could do to maneuver that Ultra up this very steep grade from a dead stop with his fat ass on the back. Got him up to a town and dumped him off. Oh yea, we pad locked his bike to a guard rail and guess he had his dad drive the 150 miles in his pickup to come get him and his bike. If a belt is worn replace it, I'll probably replace mine at 50,000 regardless don't want to get stranded someplace.
