Don't know why everybody does Pipes 1st.
The 1st thing to do to a bike is CAms.
    tw6 or 555 Woods cams
    Not SE cams

Cheap, quick way to make it sound like a Harley. You know you're gonna change 'em anyway. Good start.:rocket_bike:

if you going to do just one thing, pipes & a air cleaner is the 1st step, cams, big bore & headwork next (any mods will be choked by stock, restrictive pipes & air cleaner)

that would be a huge step back i would wrather have efi then a carb anyday . i made much better power and fuel economy with efi than my carb . bike runs soooomuch better with efi . and much better fuel curve if your gonna do bobby wood cams better have a big wallet . need to upgrade your valve train springs and retainers and good push rods . they work but the valve train takes abuse. and they are noisey because the ramp speed of the lobes are fast and they dont drop down on the seat soft .

hate to tell ya but that's wrong...

Put a set of bobbywoodsnsandrewhdzipper cams
in a stock bike with stock air filter and stock exhaust
and you may just kill off any power.

Kirby does it for a living...

Fact is stage 1 filter, proper exhaust and tune is the highest RPM for the $ spent that you can do. Now it's not the most power you can make but it's the most power for the least cost.

Cams can't do anything until you give it the air it needs, and yes woods cams are good, like CB I was a woods only guy, but that's not always the best choice for everyone. SNS ezstart cams work very well, as does Zippers Red Shift, etc. Got to find the right cam to fit the build, otherwise you can toss good money for nothing.

BTW Woods cams has out the new eyephone improvement module
supposed to help you get 15 more minutes out of every charge problem is
you have to change out the screen bearings too..:roflmao:

I know prodrag does bike building for a living and knows a hell of a lot more than me.
I just don't like some of the cams he likes. Especially the HD cams.
And I got a couple buddies that choose the S&S ez start cams.

I would hope that before anybody starts puttin Part on their bike, and that includes Pipes,
They talk to a Headman or a builder and git a parts list on a total build.
If not you are throwing money in the wrong directions.

You need to sit down or talk to a builder on the phone what you are lookin out of yer bike and what you want it to do.
I personally DO NOT True DUAL PIPES.

We put some 408-44 Woods cams in my buddies STock 08 EG. And it ran so well with stock mufflers and all we did was change the air breather and have a tune on it.
That me was more than Happy with the money spent.
The bike ran really good for just what we did to it.
He had heads and jugs and pistons to make his bike a 103 and never did it.

its not allways about ci . i like ci my is now a 98 . was born an 88. and while it was still an 88 i did cams head work and it pulled great horse power and torque . 79 hp 84 torque and it pulled 144,5 mph on the dyno . so dont think small bore motors dont make power .

    Yep !

But if hes like me He has no idea how to program the TTS.
There are some folks that are stickin a TM on the 106 and 107

Got a buddy of mine in Lousiana that did the 107 and the TM did him good.
He couldn't stay off the throttle. Think at 150 on his GPS for his airplane he blew it up

Oh yea he had a woods cam in it.

You got that right BP....there's no replacement for displacement, but a good combination of head work, cams, breather and pipe(and a good tune of course) and you can make your 88"er blow the chrome doo dads off a stage1 96"er...used to do it all the time with my lil 80"Evo when the Twinkies first came out...sure was fun:D
Now you take that worked 88 and bore it out to 95 or 98 and it'll pull even harder...but all the components have to work well together or the gains will be disappointing
