Good choice JB:) The expense is not worth the gain,if any...I thought about you talking about doing the conversion in your Sporty thread when you said you leave all electrical for Derek....and you know what the E in EFI stands for;)...When you have a fuel problem on an EFI you have to break out the Multimeter....

Yeah it is mainly so I don't have to spend too much at Derek ' s if something should happen. The tuning however Paul and I could I am sure. The G should work well.

    You going with a G??

A guy told me years ago about picking a cam(same could apply for carbs) he said....Look at the cams and the one you choose you think you need, then go one down:D
    Bigger ain't always better...

Yep. Depends on engine size. E is better for daily driving

This is not what S&S is recommending. On HTT I asked ask S&S responded and said that they used the G when they made a 117. Also from what I have read is that they redid the G as well.

Now in JB's case I'd bet dollars to donuts that 103 would pull every bit as much power with an E as the G does, and it would idle, cruise and run better, with better mileage.

SNS says, when in doubt, Super E.

Once you get into bulk cubes the G becomes a good choice
    you should be fine.

Back in 1999 when I bought my Roadking. It had a stock Harley carb so I put on the Harley Big Bore carb and it made a huge difference. Don't know if S&S had the G or super E back then but I know its worth while. However I have heard that you can get a stumble off idle when first taking off with the G or E model.

that's the big difference in the two, driveability
the E is more streetable on the majority of bikes.

I had to go through this learning curve, everyone telling
me to go G so I put on a G and dyno'd the bike, picked up
a few HP up top, but nothing down low or mid range over the E

The E was better mannered on the streets on a very hot 95
the G will be good on the 117 much larger engine.

On my 99 I had the cam problem and they rebuilt the motor and bored it out to a 95. That's when I did the big bore carb. That bike ran really good and strong. Probably would have done even better with the S&S E model carb.

Pretty much what SNS Cycle said in JB's thread on HTT

    From SNS on HTT,
"The general rule is 100". Under, we usually duggest the E, over and we suggest the G. This is just a baseline and not a rule. A really hot 96 with a big cam and high compression that is seeing a ton of wide open throttle would be a prime candidate for a G. Conversely, there is also a question about the E on our 111. Most of the 111s are going into bikes that are high mileage daily riders. The E offers plenty of performance, but better low rpm sensitivity and control. We tested both and for the application and riding style of the end user, the E makes more sense."

Yes. And 135 square is a candidate for the G.
