Air cleaner customization

Less chrome = more ridin time!

Picked up the bike yesterday from stealer - big bore kit 95"/SE tuner. We got 40' weather so I put 100 miles on it for good hard breakin - runs like a bat out of hell Brought it in for some fresh dyno oil this morning and mech wants to put on a black filter cuz it's comin off in 250 miles anyway & it saves them $8 (first oil change included with kit) It comes out of the shop with this butt ugly gloss black filter that sticks out like a sore thumb! First thing I thought of was this post and how it might look good flat black instead of chrome. I knew I had some flat black header paint at home so I bought another black filter,a little scuff & 2 coats later exact match for HD engine black! Will have to wait and see how it looks, temps goin into the 30's Sat & Sun but sunny and dry. I'll put another 250 miles on if I can and bring it in for final dyno and oil change. Will post some pics - if I like it, other wise it will be back to chrome!!!!
