I had Dunlops on my old bike & got about 8000 out of my rear before it started looking like a slick....I don't hot rod it either, I think its just the nature of the beast. Softer tires are gonna grip better but aren't gonna last very long, so its a trade off.

    Powder coat

You guys spend too much time cleaning. Have your wheels powder coated (Yes, I know there is a cost but I had mine done 4 years ago and they are still looking great. ) then a wipe over before and after a run with some BOM and they look as good as new. Oh! just a thought but why are you parked up long enough for people to look at the bike in the first place. :roflmao: Ride free and Safe

i was at the cowboy rally last year, and bought a prouduct called "da bomb"
talk about cleaning the crome and alumin, it is easy to use as wiping on wiping off, forget about brake dust and grime, that came off with ease!!!!
but what really impressed me was was how it handled the surface rust, and corrision that comes from living on a beach!!!! with little or no effort.
i still have rust and corrosion problems, but not even close to how it was........

i have tried many brand of tires........
but i have found that for me the dunlops are the best bang for the buck!
they dont wear as long as i would like them, but i dont want any other tire when it comes to riding in the rain, they have proven themselfs time amd time again.
and i will admit it,i am hard on my bike......a long day at work and i am gonna be going through the gears. especialy slowing down, chirping the tires each downshift.......
but i figure at 109 bucks for tire is cheap, for the pleasure it brings, every 6 months weather it needs our not, most of the time it needs it.

I dont think I spend that much time cleaning. I work with a guy who gives me crap about how "dirty" my bike is yet I rarely see him RIDING his. Riding during this time of the year my bike gets dirty after only a few rides, so I have to clean more often. My bike is black so its probably a little harder from the get go....wish it was flat black like the new FXD's ....That looks so cool, cant believe I never thought of that before.

it always comes full circle.....in the 60's/70's there were a lot of flat black bikes on the road....mostly owner painted....some with pinstriping, some plain....other flat paint jobs also....some reds and oranges...
