Yeah, that's really nice chuck. I wouldn't mind seeing a couple of more pics. Maybe one riding off to the sun set.

When does the Cobber2 project start?

Lookin' at some Avons & some Cokers online. When you measure the width of a rim, is it measured outside to outside? The Avon website told me my rims are too wide to accommodate their (classic) speedmaster mk 11 tires. For instance, their 16x5.00 rear tire has a max. rim width recommendation of 3.50. My rear rim is about 4 1/2" wide. And their 19x3.50 recommends a max. rim width of 2.50. My front rim is about 3 1/2" wide. I don't get it.
Now the Cokers don't say anything about rim width, and they have a a 16x5.00 and a 19x4.00 that look like they will work and they look bitchin', too. But I don't know anything about the Coker brand.

Had to run out the shop and get the "specs for ol' Bob" folder! The front tire is an Avon roadrunner 90/90 h19 52, and the rear tire is a Dunlop D402 (HD MT90B 16 M/G 74H). I have no idea what all that means! By the way, it's snowing pretty good this morning and we have the day off from school. They'll call school off if there's only a 1/4 " on the ground. Okay by me - I get paid and don't have to show up!

Same here, and the news media makes a big deal out of it and gives them something to talk about.

Just got an answer back from the tech boys at J&P. They tell me I can go with the classic Avon Speedmaster MK11's. Problem solved. I'm ordering them today. Thanks, guys, for all your input. Man, this website (Bike Talk) is fantastic . . . incidently, J&P also told me that the Avons are a very good riding tire and that the Cokers I was looking at were best to use on a show bike. Now, my scoot is far from being a show bike! Avon it is. Now, I'm one more step closer to the day I can get my skinny butt in the saddle and ride . . .

Got a little ways to go yet. Savin' up for a 4-speed ratchet kicker and a complete enclosed primary, all '70s era. Then it's a mini-battery and a few little odds 'n' ends. Might be ready sometime this spring. Ya'll might not know, but I haven't ridden since the '70s. Broke my back a coupla times workin' in the trades. Got the itch to ride again 'bout a year and a half ago. Started with a used rolling chassis from Rob's Used Harley Parts. I did meet with some resistance at first, the economy being what it is, and Mac the Wife being concerned for my safety. But after I put the solo spring seat on, Mac sez "Were am I gonna sit?" So I know everything's okay now. Ol' Bob is nearly finished and we gonna be gettin' in the wind come what may . . .
