You know CB the XDS has not been out for that long. Don't think they have been out for more than four years. Bought one in 45 when they first came out and it was a constant problem. Sent it back twice they couldn't fix it. The 4 inch runs fine but done with their 3.3 especially when my Shield works perfect.
As for grouping to me it matters a lot. I want to know that it shoots where I'm pointing it. My Sigs also go where I poont them.

many leo.... Who's lives depend on them every day.

When the P320 subcompact comes out I'll get a set to move
    from my P320 compact.

What is the #1 selling car. A Japanese car.
If you like a Sig, i'm happy for you.
but when I go to the gun shows and ranges. Nobody that owns them carries a Sig.

My Browning Gold Hunter and other people with the Browning Gold hunter. While Geese hunting jammed over and over.

I was in a Duck & Geese Club that covered places we hunted for over 100 miles on land we had leased. WE tried to not hunt the same place all the time to always be able to shoot ducks and Geese.
I would go with a Out Fitter buddy of mine so when he took clients out that they always brought ducks home.

To answer some of your questions CB, when I buy a gun, there are certain criteria that the gun must fill. Ego has nothing to do with it. I want a quality gun, preferably all steel. I prefer 45 caliber but if the gun feels right I would buy something other than a 45. I guess the ego part comes in with owning, and firing a 45. Price does not matter to me much as long as the gun has at least 85% resale value of retail. It really doesn't matter to me if the gun is American or not as long as it is a dependable gun.

I have heard a lot of horror stories about the xds that FLHT alluded to, those horror stories were enough for me to never consider an XDS or XDM. I am in no way saying that there aren't good ones out there but reliability is key. Isn't it? I would consider a Taurus before the XDS or XDM. Just saying.

Sig has a good reputation however from reading more about SIG from various sources, Sigs aren't as good as they used to be either. However I would take my chances with a SIG over an XDS any day.

You also said that the gun has to fit your hand just right. Absolutely! But yet I have never held an XDS or XDM that I liked how it felt in my hand, even with different grips and back straps in place. You also mentioned the Kimber. I agree, nice gun but please explain to me in a convincing way what the difference is of spending that kind of money on a Kimber and it's a good buy vs. buying a Colt New Agent for about the same money but that is a stupid thing to do?

The Police here, Purchase and buy the pistol they want to carry.
Had a friend that was in a Bass Club that was a Sherieff. He worked at the Pistol range.
    He carried a Glock.
Lot of the other police officers used to carry a S&W. But they left them.

I think its who gets a contract on what pistol they carry.

And it changes just like the army and FBI.
And even though its issured . Don't mean its the weapon they carry.
I have 3 retired Police officers living in my neighborhood.

You need to find a pistol you can carry on your body. Not leave in the house. Or in the car. And you can shoot it good. You do not need to shoot a 2" group.
you need to shoot it at least 250-300 times to break it in.
And see what kind of ammo it likes. And carry it.
What I like and what fits my hand you may not like.
And if Hotrodking likes a pistol, or if FLHT likes a pistol you can take that into consideration and buy one.
Put it on yer body and carry it everywhere. I carried a Glock model 22 for 20 yrs.
I would lay on the ground working on stuff and people would say man yer scratching yer pistol up
I would get off off the ground and throw it on the asphault. And say look it skint it.
But I will bet you if I pulled the trigger it will fire.
I carried a pistol as a TOOl to protect myself. Thats it.
All I want it to do is be able to get dirty and swat and wet from working in the rain and shoot.
I can walk into the store all day long and within 30 minutes walk out with a new pistol.
I don't care if they get scratched. bluing worn off or what. I was a serviceman working in the elements.

Got a couple buddy's that own land and they have Oil and gas wells on them.
Got more pistols than they can stick in safes.
    Got all makes.
But they have a XDs that you complain about on their side.

And can you carry your weapon comfortablely on your motorcycle when you ride it.
My XDS carried on my side riding my Harley . I forget I even have it.
But I know people has had problems with them . And you don't like it.

You are gonna have to buy several guns and see what you like.
And you will see what you can keep attached to your body.
And that will become your weapon.

A lot of gun mfgs has recalls. Got a friend that has a XDs 9mm that was on a recall a couple years ago. he carried it till everybody got their weapons back.
he finally sent his in and got it back in a month. And still carries it in his business and rides dirt and street bikes everyday.

Look at the recalls on Auto Mfg every few years. All of them.

Got to a gun store and range and buy my guns because of their price.
Call and see what they carry on their side. They can carry anything they want.
They have shot about all of them.

Got friend that carried Springfield Range officers and Springfield Operator.
But this is not a carry pistol. Its a competition shooting pistol.
And both are really well made pistols

Hope you seperate the pistols when you are looking at them.

And the reason I said something about a Kimber.
They feel really good. And shoot very accurate.
But if you want the best pistol for your money. You got to look at a Wilson Combat
The people at Wilson combat is jewlers. They build one if the best firearms made.
Bill Wilson personal carry pistol is super find.
And made out of the best parts.

Do your own homework on the Wilson Combat
    pistols.

    http://www.personaldefenseworld.com...-bill-wilson/#bill-wilson-wilson-combat-cover

I have pistols for the house. And pistols I have in my truck. But My carry pistol because of the size and weight is the XDs .
Cause I don't want to know I feel it all the time.

And I practise drawing it and shooting it.

So I guess you can't justify the difference between it being ok to buy a Kimber at $1100 but not a Colt New Agent at $1300?

Me personally I like the Kimber
You need to go to a Gun store and hold both pistols.
Put them on yer side where you carry them.
Feel the size of the pistol.
Would be nice if you could shoot them.
It would probably be the Kimber.

But you want me to say the Colt.
I would take a XD mod 2 over both of them.

Put the pistol concealed on your body and see how it feels. Can you carry it all day, Day in and day out.
Got 2 brother in laws that has Sigs. But the sigs sit in the drawer. And they carry the Springfield XD
Both are looking at the new XD Mod 2

Buddy down the street is waiting for them to release the XD mod 2 in a 45. He told the dude at the Gun Store he will walk in and pay cash for the 1st one they get.

What I justify might not be what you justify.
I told you I like the XDs as a carry weapon.
FLHT likes his S&W. Hotrodking likes his Sig.

Your hand is different size them mine also.

you need to find something that you can carry comfortably.
And at 25' you can shoot pretty well. And go with it.
And no matter how much homework you do. Until you shoot the pistol, you don't know how much you like it.

I know I can shoot and hit accurately with the XDs 3.3 pistol.

The XD MOD2 has a bit of finer refinements to an already XD subcompact pistol that was slipping in sales. Everybody told them they needed to do something about them. They were like holding onto a brick.
The Ruger line of pistols need a facelift as they are not the best looking pistols out there but they function very well and never hear of problems with them.
