That is a very nice gun and they have a very sweet trigger pull. At least the ones I have looked at.

A neighbor of mine bought a sight kit for changing the sights on some pistols.
Got to tell you even with the sight kits. Its still a PIA to change them.
Glad I bought my sights at the place where I got my Ultra Carry.
They put them on for free.
Front sight don't glow in the dark. And all they had was the Tru Glow tritium.

Called them and told them the front sight don't glow in the dark.
Asked if they could order the Tru Glow TFO sight and let me drive back and pay the difference and have them changed out. The guy that emailed me back I couldn't get in touch with.
Talked to the gun smith. Said I was 65 miles away.
He took my phone number and said he would call me.

Well my neighbor I ride with down the street got his Kimber a day before me after me telling him about it. He ordersed some Tru Glow TFO night sights in friday. We used his sight tool and fought to get them on yesterday afternoon.
It was raining a lot on and off today.
But we got on my mule and went to another one of my buddys house up the street.

Let my Neighbor shoot his Kimber Ultr carry 1st.

He shot it and was saying it don't kick as much as the springfield or my Sig.
You couldn't wipe the smile off his face if you tried.
He was amazed at how good it shot.
He let our buddy house that we was at shoot it.
He liked the heck out of it.

I put a new target on the stump and shot.
It was overcast and I could bearly see my front sight. My right has had lasik surgery to see far off.
The Kimber jammed a few times with the 1st few clips.

But quit. Then I even rapid fired it a few times. No jams.
    Gun shot very well.

    Went to clean the pistol..
When I cleaned it the barrel link that the slide stop goes through . The barrel link was locking into place with it was in the up position like you would put it together.

    Found a burr on it.
I took a small file and got it off. Cleaned it ,blew it off with air compressor , sprayed gun cleaner and lubed it, and even put some synthetic gun grease on it.
    Works freely now.

This is gonna be a bad ass carry pistol.

Waiting on the Gun Shop where I bought it to get the tru glow TFO sights in so I can see my front sight

    Jody shot it too.

    I'm amazed.

    The weapon is Brand new.
I have heard to shoot 400 rounds threw it before you contact kimber.
Think the burr I found no the barrel link might of been part of the problem.

This is a Custom pistol with a 3" barrel. Its very tight. Parts has not mated yet.

I cleaned it very good. Put some tri Flow in some critical places.

Then I put Pro Gold slide grease on the slide and the barrel link.

Only shot about 35 rounds threw it. The last 3 clips or so was rapid fire.

That is what I just did with my Bersa mags. I even let my youngest daughter load the mags with the UpLula. She asks me tonight if she could do it again. Lol.

Got a buddy that wants the Bersa Thunder 45 he likes it so much.
He likes that is is close to the 1911 action with the safety. But it is double action hammer.

    Said I don't remember one.
And I was looking for a Carry pistol that was small.
    And I now have it.
My buddy has shaken my hand 3 times, And he lives down the street.
And txted me a few times this afternoon .
Thanking me for turning him on to the Kimber Ultra Carry crimson II pistol
    Been looking at this holster.

CB, my Sig Ultra compact 1911 has a 3 inch barrel and it has never jamed ever. Shoots super tight groups even at 50 feet offhand.

Johnny is correct there is no 1911 that is DA/SA. Now my Sig P229 is DA/SA and what a shooter that bad boy is. It was a police gun that I picked up at the LGS that came from Sig. They get police turn ins and then go through them and what a fantastic shooter it is.
CB, my Ruger SR1911 has also never jammed up or had a issue once in the 4 years I've owned it. Guess the Kimbers must be awful touchy for such an expensive gun. image.jpg image.jpg

I've read 1911 forums. They said the Kimbers are CUSTOM pistols .
Everything is very tight. Kimber says shoot it 400 times to break it in.
It jammed on the 1st clip.
    My buddies never jammed.
The book also said break it down, clean and oil it.
    I didn't do it.
N0 2 are the same when you buy a custom pistol, You get one that is good out of the box. Or one that you got to take more time to break in.
Everybody said Kimber customer service is very good.. But you have to do your break in period before you call about problems.

I went to like 6 gun stores. they had very few sigs in stock. Said they do not sell many of them here compared to other pistols.
My buddy that bought the kimber that shot with me has a Sig. He never carried it.
Guess you either like a Sig or you don't. Seems you and Hotrodking like em.,

Looks like the marines has gone to a Glock 19.
Now I know why the marine in the gun store that was wonded in combat had a Glock 19. And he carried Israeli style. Just like I've always carried a Glock and Springfield.

    After assessing the situation yesterday.
When I shot the weapon to start. The guide rod stuck out when it jammed.
That means the barrel loop that stuck caused the guide rode to stick out and jam.
I deburred it. Put some tri Flow and slide grease on it.
I know that took care of the jam problem now that I think about it.
only shot about 30 round threw it.
And I shot when I couldn't see the front site. waiting on them to order the Tru Glow TFO fiber optic sight so I can go back and get it put on.

I really, really, really like this pistol. Nicest pistol for concealed carry i've ever owned.

If it will quit raining. And the cold fronts will quit blowing it.
I will get this pistol broke in. Where I stand to shoot. I stand in the mud and water at a buddy's house up the street.

CB, I thought you said before that the Springfield XDS was the best for concealed carry?
Here they sell way more Sigs than Kimbers. Probably because Kimbers are over priced for what you get. Glad you like it but do think they are over priced. Did you know that Kimber was started right here in Oregon. Kimber started with building rifles for hunting and were known then for high quality. Then they sold out to some big conglomerate and moved and there head quarters are now in Elmsberg NY. Some say they are living on the old name and the quality is not what it used to be. All I know about them was when they were founded and built here in Clackamas OR and there quality was unmatched. They didn't build pistols then just hunting rifles. Sigs are built in New Hampshire now and have a long history of the highest quality.
I'm glad you like you Kimber I just can't justify buying one for the price they want. Bad enough buying a Sig.

I really, like my XDS Springfield. And I will not get rid of it.
I wanted a pistol that had a external safety on it. Didn't want to pay the price for a 1911 Pistol.
Nor what it cost for a Kimber.

But I know some folks with them.
The kimber don't kick as much as the XDs and is the same size.
I wanted a Raptor stainless steel. But they are hard to find.

Now that I have shot the Kimber I really like it. Its my new carry pistol.
Just need to put 400 rounds threw it. ONly got about 35 threw it.

Got the Kimber Ultra Crimson Carry II on a credit card.
But I will be happy to pay it off. I like my Kimber that much.
Might get the raptor in the future.
I got too many guns I know.
But it won't be my last Kimber.

Yea I know about having to many guns.
Have a friend who has an ankle holster for his XDS and carries it there as his backup. He carries a Glock as his primary weapon in a pancake holster. He is a body man ownes his own shop and does all his own work. Don't know how he manages to do it with two pistols.
My Sig Ultra Compact Carry 1911 is the same size as your Kimber. Great size in a 1911 style pistol.

    I haven't carried a Wallet i 35 yrs.
Wanted a carry pistol that was comfortable.
Got the pistol and I'm very happy with it.
Next I will see if I can find a holster as comfortable as the Uncle mikes Foam holster.
