    Was cold this morning 31*
Rode my mule up the street to the front of the neighborhood.
Shot my Kimber Ultra Crimson Carry II some more after I cleaned the barrel loop burr.
    The weapon shot flawlessly.
Don't kick like my other 45's.

That's why I got rid of the XDS 45 and now have the Sig Ultra Compact like your Kimber. Mine doesn't kick like the XDS 45 either. Much more comfortable to shoot.

Sorry holmes, a mass produced firearm is in no way a "custom" gun. Sure, they may fire differently but they share all the same components with one another. You want to talk "custom" guns? Two words. Les Baer!

Don't want to talk Les Baer.

Don't want to pay the extra change for a Les Baer

Got a friend that for buying a large pistol he got a Springfield Champion Operator.
Think it was 5000.00 and took him like 2 yrs to get it.
Then he got a Springfield Range officer that I think he had springfield to do a lot of custom work on.

He also had kimbers. I was talking to him when he was carrying kimber 4 yrs ago, about Wilson Combat. Now he carries a wilson combat and his wife carries a Kimber.

If you want to spend that much money for a Target pistol go ahead. Buy a Les Baer or a 5000.00 custom pistol.

But lets see you stick it on you and carry it.
They are too big and hard to carry.

If I wanted the best pistol you could carry. And I wanted it to be a 4" instead of a 3" like I got with the kimber.
I would get a Wilson Combat. But I don't want to pay 3000.00 for a pistol

I can deal with 1100.00 for the one I got.
And got some friends with the Bigger Kimber and they really shoot great.

Got a few Police officers I know that also carry Kimber.
    Best shooting pistol i've owned.

And no way will me or my buddy's get rid of our XDs 45. or 9mm.
Custom pistols take longer to break in. And don't take getting dirty and operate as easy as a XDs does.

I think it's safe to say dude that if you spend that kind of money on a pistol, (Les Baer) it's for reasons other than to carry. Maybe they have a small pee pee? However feeling the need to spend that kind of cash on a pistol is no different than us spending the kind of money we do on our Harley's.

If you get in a shootout with somebody.
You probably will never use your sights.
    You probably won't have time.
And if your weapon is not on you. What then ?

I have carried a weapon with a license since 1971 working the streets day and night as a locksmith.
And being retired I still carry.
I don't want a Big pistol for personal protection.
Want something light and small. But something I can be accurate with.

And if you shoot somebody you will probably get your weapon taken from you.

It does not matter dude if the gun cost $500 or $5000. All that matters is that the gun fires when needed and that the person firing that gun is competent.

Are you implying that a Les Baer isn't a worthy carry gun?

Yeah CB you are right, chances are that you will most likely get your gun taken from you but that is a painful reality we knowingly risk if the situation arises.

Now willing to Pay 3000 for a pistol to carry.
If I wanted one I would order one. But not a les Baer.

Had a retired police officer to tell me that years ago.

and sometimes it takes years if you get it back then.

Now would you rather have a 1100.00 pistol taken or a 3000.00 Pistol taken ?

    Or a 5000.00 pistol taken.

Me I will carry my Kimber.
Know you read a some bad stuff about kimber. But some of the people saying the stuff.
Hasn't shot 400 rounds and kept the weapon lubricated.
Or they have a limp wrist.

Most all kimbers problems are worked out after 400 rounds and all the parts mates.

That depends on the pistol. Just because a pistol costs $5000 doesn't automatically mean it's my favorite.

Have you ever owned or shot a Kimber pistol ?
    They make all sizes.
I chose the 3" ultra because its light. Shoots very good. And is a well made Pistol.
    And easy to carry.

Have you ever got on the kimber forums and asked anybody on there.
    Kimber talk.
If they have a Kimber that they don't like.
Or if they wouldn't want another one.

I've waited at least 5 yrs to get one.

I have a Ruger 1911 that is very accurate and fires every time. I just wished they made a 3 inch as I would carry that full time. I picked my Ruger up 3 years ago for $639.00 and feel it's as good or better than any other 1911. Wouldn't trade it for any other either.

Ruger makes a nice 1911 Pistol.
But like I was saying stick it on yer butt and tote it everywhere.
I already got too old for my pants to be pulled down all day.

The pistol I just bought weights 25oz empty.
