Kimber isn't a custom gun. It's considered a higher end production gun, it's still very nice. Kimber sold president is now president I'd Sig usa

Wilson combat, les Baer, nighthawk custom volkman are hand fitted guns built one at a time with hand fitted and higher end non MIM parts and those are considered custom and why they cost more

I keep slide grease on my XDm and XDs and it says to run at least 300 rounds of nothing but ball ammo threw it before you use hollow points.

The Kimber says nothing but solid ball ammo 400 rounds before you do anything else.
And to keep it wet the whole time.

Not to contact them till this has been done.

    Most folks don't do it.
Not doing it don't let the parts mate together.
    And will cause problems.

Ordered a N82 Tactical Professional holster today.
Said hes been carrying one for over 2 yrs.
I said I been lookin at them for 2 yrs.

A marine teachs the CHL classes and owns the store is who took my order.
Asked him if he carried his pistol with a round in the chamber.
    He said yes.
I said I carry Israeli style. Whats that. Told him.
He says he don't teach that way. But if you train that way. He wouldn't want to change the style you trained.

Was talking to him about a ED brown, and les Bauer pistols.
He replied why spend that kind of money on a pistol when you can get a Kimber or something for around 1000.oo
    Just don't make cents.

You will never use it for anything but showing other folks.
You can't shoot as accurate at a 1000.00 pistol shoots. And you can buy 3 pistols for one of the 3000.00 pistols.

I've run over 400 rounds through my XDS 4.0 45. I use Tetra grease on my slides never had any issues with it.
I do like it much better than the standard XDS 45

I was at Evans Guns and the owner had a XDs 3.3 45
Asked him when he was gonna get a XDs 4.0 45.
He replied, I wanted a compact pistol. The 4" pushed it up to a full size pistol.
He don't want a pistol that big to carry concealed all the time.

He had rather have the 3.3
Said a person has to decide on how big of a weapon they want to carry.
    And what fits their hand.
Hes 6'4 and said the 3.3 works great for working the store and shooting at 25'.

He also said train on the weapon you carry, and the style of shooting you do.
So when you pull your weapon you will be accurate with it.

You buy an Ed brown because you can

There is a big difference between a Kimber sig Springfield and a custom 1911

    Like Grand Canyon huge

You ever shoot one you know difference. Again not knocking Kimber sig etc

    It's s completely different animal

Picked up and put in my pants the new Agent. And the other colt defender.
All Steel weapons. Too heavy to carry on your body.
Talked to the people at Shooters Station. And they said they do not like the Colt New Agent for a carry Pistol. its too heavy to tote all day.

They showed me a Springfield Range officer , Think it was a 3.8 " barrel and would shoot very, very good.
It is much lighter than the colt and would shoot as good as the colt.

But it would carry a lot better than the colt.
    Something to think about.
    Springfield Range officer compact.

Also while I was at the Shooters Station I got my Tru Glow TFX night sights put on.
And came home and my N82 Tatical Professional holster had come in the mail.
    Made for a great weekend.

The N82 is a very, comfortable holster. Standing up. or sitting down.
