I bet you could cut that lower tube rebend one out of steel tubing weld a mount tab to one end of the tubing and mount it to the lower portion of the frame. and paint it black you will never be able to tell .

thanks paul...like i said "winter project". i may still yet go to dual/crossover headers.

i am sure i can sell these dual headers as well as the drags. i have accumulated quite a few parts to unload.

this will be my "baby". i may go with a gas-n-go later for long hauls. that will make cardboard happy...you know how he feels about old school stuff. LOL

gots the clamps, know i needs the brackets. but i think these are the wrong headers. if they were 3 or 4 inches longer, the fishtails would not hit the rear guards.

No man...it's not the headers...it's the mufflers...just looking at the links posted, the ones I posted are 27" mufflers...the ones you had up from VTwin are 33"...:gah: I'm real sorry....

but the mufflers still only have a short connection point, so the 3 1/4 part hits the guard. if the header was a few inches longer, they would clear i think. anyway, i will do more measuring, and prepare for the winter. may have a good deal for someone,

OK I see where you're hitting now....I went innernet searching to try to find some pics of the set up, the crash bar does go over the muffler body, the header pipes aren't too short, but the crash bar is very very close to the mufflers on the one's I looked at,then I noticed scrape marks on your crash bar and I'm wondering if they might have gotten a little bent outta shape collecting the scuff marks....did you try the muffler for clearance and fit on the left side??

left side, not yet. more sanding to fit. i have to take primary off and center better for the starter, it was draggin a little. left header wraps around the cover, so i wuz gonna wait. thought i could bend those bars and then make an extension bracket to the frame if needed. i want to rechrome those bars this winter anyways.
    appreciate you time dude...

I really like those pipes and mufflers. I'd keep 'em and modify the crash bar to clear 'em.
