Went by Auto Zone this mornin and got the part I was talkin about to splice in on the cigarette lighter wires.
Its a T-Tap. Its the tap and a female plug to plug in on the t-tap. Auto Zones site shows the tap but not the female plug that comes with it.
    Part # 85468.
    They work out really great.

I agree with you Chuck I don't use any of those type of crimps. They will work for a while but solder and heat shrink is way better.
I had a friend who owns a auto repair shop give me a stick of a new heat shrink that he got. When you heat it and it shrinks it emits a glue substance that seals the ends so moisture and air don't get in. That is what I used on the wifes trike when I re-did the wiring through the bars.

The heat demons that I put on her bike, the kit comes with a type of crimp where you stick the wire ends in then push the top down. Basically same principle as the old blue wire splice. I soldered all of the wires instead. Better connections in my opinion.

Solder @ shrinktube is the best way by far and only takes a little extra time, looks professional. Why spend hundreds of $ on trinkets only to wire it onto a 5 cent connector.:gah:

    4 connectors were 3.00.
Been on the bike so far trouble free for 3 yrs.
And I didn't want to splice wires to do the job.:D

dam......you got to check with da better half to inquire about dinner Cardboard?....lol...lol...lol...The 660 was ordered when by the dealer when I bought the new geezer, Dealer said it came with a y connector that plugs in to the wireing harness... you have to turn on your acc.switch when you want the unit on.No splice,no junk clips and no heat shrinks!!:D And i like the fairing mount more than the handle bar mount....its out of the way from view of the **** pit instruments and appears like its supposed to be there.

Its early yet...but maybe the better half might come ask to go to dinner ...lol...what ya think Chuck?

Man I bought a Zumo 550 several years ago.
HD didn't carry them then as the Road Tech, there was no 660 out.
It didn't have the clips you are talkin about.

I have a old Gramin C330 in the Suburban, and it tells you where to turn, just like the OL, only thing is, it doesnt add other not so nice words at the end. I think it will stay in the Suburban and not on the bike. I wouldnt be able to hear it tell me where to go anyway, with the Big Shots playing there music. I dont need the distraction of looking at something on the handle bars.
