I didn't read the article I'm just saying that you said it was for touring bikes. That's all. Face it, your biased towards Harley ! It's not a bad thing. Ha ha ha!

That I am. Ruined for any other motorcycle. I would never insult a rider for their choice of motorcycle brand, I just won't ride with them.

Just perplexed why Victory wouldn't have had their top tourer the Vision in competition with the top tourers of Indian and Harley. That's all.

In the article it did say Cross Country Tourer, so guess that is how they allowed it.

The lowers on the Cross Country are to squared off and it sports to tall of a windshield, terrible when riding in a rain storm (can't see through it). It did state that the Cross Country Tourer was more suitable for a large rider, maybe that's why HRK likes it.

Geez guys, the fugly Vision is not their day in day out tourer! It's a specialty bike! If they relied on the Vision as their tourer they'd go broke!
Remember the Honda Rune???? A specialty bike.

    From Victory

The Victory Vision redefines what a touring motorcycle can be with its outstanding combination of a great ride, ample storage, superior comfort and distinctive style that could only come from Victory Motorcycles.

Clearly direct competitors, Fork mounted faring two up touring bikes....

The Vision is targeted at the BMW/Wing Dinger crowd, platform
    isn't even close.

Speculation on your part. Victory still should have gone head to head with the Roadmaster and the Ultra.

It's usually the Goldwinger's that carry the bulk, of both rider and passenger.

HRK...I see the visuals and enjoyed seeing them. I'd be on board with you except that wasn't the name of the article. What I saw in the article was top of the mark Harley, top of the mark Indian and middle of the line Victory motorcycle with a tour pac thrown on it.

Perhaps when the owners of Cycle World see this thread they'll consider fulfilling your fantasy and do an article called "Fixed Fairing Touring Comparrisons"?

Its a bike magazine, the titles just to get you to buy and read,

I get what you're saying, title wise but if a car rag said "best of the best"
a face off Ferrari and Kia, an Optima vs a 455 isn't a fair comparison.

Doesn't matter, either way, I just kinda look at it like it's a comparo
    of similar model bests...

LIke a Heritage vs Indian Vintage or whatever they call it...

Definatley the XCT looks more in line with a standard tourer and less like a star trek vehicle.

The thing that jacks me about the Vision is a touring bike is already built above and beyond a standard road bike with fairing, lowers tour pack why add all that other finned, body panels etc..
