I have decided to go with a CV carb, any advice you have would be greatly appreciated. I found a press in piece for the manifold to carb adapter and had planned on putting a 45 pilot and a 185 main I think iron heads need to run a little richer than the evos. But the jetting is just a guess until I run it.

Should be ok on the pilot jet though the main could be a little rich. Last ironhead I built a carb for tuned in with a 44/175. You'll need a new throttle cable but you don't need to go with the return cable. CV's have plenty of return spring without them though the DOT had their own opinion.

I hope that isn't going to be too much, some of that machine work can get expensive. I assume you are going to plate them?

I am not sure what you mean by plating. Machine work has taken up the majority of the budget as I expected it would.

So what is the cc of the bike and what are you going to make the cc? Are you going to do any performance stuff to it?

That is the better thing to do at times.

I have been thinking pretty hard about that cc upgrade that we were talking about yesterday. I told a guy at work, who also has Sportster and his mouth just dropped to the ground. he said the same as you, "Better Hold On Tight". :D

I have not had a chance to work on the project this week; have been helping a friend with a 1918 model T. After three long days and nights we finished all of the half completed items and drove it around the block. It was more difficult to drive than I thought it would be.

I was talking more about the transmission set up and brakes. Three pedals on the floor engaging different band inside of the transmission. Throttle and timing on the steering column and the brake and neutral on a lever next to your left leg. I kept wanting to depress the left pedal (hi and low gear) every time I wanted to stop. It was fun. To date it is the oldest vehicle I have driven.

I have seen a lot of Model T's in my short time from when my dad and I were on the Car Show circiut showing his cars. I always thought they were cool, but that is about it. A little too old for me.
