Fully understand! Unless you're a Bll Gates or T. Boone Pickens, I think we are all feeling a serious pinch right now. Heck, I was thinking about retiring next year, but my IRA etc. just went south with all the jobs.:cussing:

Sorry, I misunderstood why you were keeping an eye on it. The guy has them up for sale continually so if you need to wait awhile, there will be more listed for that price. I bought mine some time back and I think they MAY have gone up $3.00 -$4.00 is all.

    Sorrry for the misunderstanding!:banghead:

    How about this one

What do you think of this one???!!! Just need basic input from anyone....like have you tried this brand? Thanks!
I also want to know what this info means (some of it I have figured out....but....)
    Voltage: 12 V
    Chemistry: AGM Batteries
    Capacity: 28 Ah
    CCA: 385

12 Volt I have figured out.....AGM Battery chemistry...is that the gel? CCA I would guess as the Cold Cranking Amps.....385 sound right??!! and capacity 28Ah....??? huh??!!

Xtreme Permaseal High Performance AGM Motorcycle, ATV, Powersport Battery - XTA30L - Batteries Plus

    Thanks!

    Yo Chuck:

The hyperlink you posted is a great Battery-101 lesson. They even concur with the use of trickle chagers (or I interpret as a Battery Tender)!

"Stored batteries can be left on a trickle charge or at least topped off every couple of months."

    Hey Chuck!
Great link! Looks like that battery may be a decent fit for the bike, based on the info that you provided.....there may be better, but........ the fact that it is a "gel" type battery and OVER 50$ savings is a good thing! They also have a tender for 29$ and it has a 3$ mail in rebate......may do BOTH at the same time and STILL be less then HD!!! Thanks for the schooling!

well lord knows every time I commit something to memory something else gets deleted in its place. I just wish I could decide what gets deleted and what not. :roflmao:

    got an 02

Wow I bought a battery for my car the other day 88 dollars!!! when did that happen?!?#??#$ My bike is an 02 and has the original battery..never used a tender and the bike might sit a month the longest without being started. I was gonna leave work the other day for lunch and it did not even click, I thought that was the end of it then. Turned out that it was just a loose positive cable. The cable actually arches i upward and over the terminal. The seat and my weihgt worked it loose. Real nice design..real nice....(yeah sarcasm).Should have fixed that a long time ago..but hey only got me once to date. But I am gonna go in the 09 with an 02 battery. I am sure when it strands me I will be still P/O!! LOL.

good luck and you will get it figured out. We actually had a wire on a buddy's bike that wore through and caused all kind of grief!!!! Look close...
750 miles then BAM.. popping (through a thunder header!!)and stopping looking and taking off the bowl... etc... one stinking little wire all of a sudden finally wore through and one piece of electrical tape fixed it all. GOOD LUCK!!!
    Later:cool:

My battery went to ckicking yesterday I was in an accedent last month and could'nt ride so the bike was sitting. I bought a charger/tender at
Wally-World after getting a full charge it switches to tender mode. The only thing I'm wonderingdoes anyone think that the pigtail plug should have a cap to keep water and crap from getting into it? It works great only paid $20.00 :)

yes it should have a cap. you can try to hide it real good from the elements. i would think a cap could be fabbed from an old piece of innertube and a couple of tiewraps......let us know what ya come up with....:)

I don't know whatcha bought, but mine came with a rubber blind plug to plug into the wire from the battery. Perhaps you got a returned one that somebody broke? I'd check it out and exchange it if that's the case.

It appeared to be sealed and packed tightly but there was no blind cap. It worked fine. Maybe I can find a cap for a trailer hitch or inprovise one .
