Thanks JB. Really good headlights are more important than we think. I hated driving to my buddy's house upstate NY when it got dark. The road was dark and winding, with hills and deer everywhere. I couldn't see far enough to know what was coming up next on the road, so I rode with a lot of tension. Even going slow didn't change that feeling of uncertainty.

HRK showed me these lights that mount on the very front of the bike. They were from that place in Wisconsin that everyone likes. I thought about those to and I still may put those on so I can see. here in Minnesota there are a lot of deer, many people died this summer from hitting them. I also think that I am going to put a brighter headlight on, or bulb at least. :D

Deer are really spooky on the road and will hurt you more than you hurt them.

Here when you see them they just been running. They don't look just run.

You mightsee a little en coming running, then you see the mom runnin behind it.
They run right into cars and trucks.
Been some hogs runnin along the side of the road too. See one of them hit every now and then. A pack of about 30 crossed the road the other day. I freaked out. Non of them got hit either. Just popped out of the woods crossed the road and went in the woods on the other side.
And I ride at nite time too.
BiXenon headlight and the 894L bulbs in the running lights sure do make a difference.....

Nite time or day time don't matter. You never know when that time might come. No guarantees in life. But it don't hurt to try and cover yer ass.

I Don't leave the house without a helmet. Nor will I let the OL leave the house without one.
Everybody I have got into ridin motorcycles, Started them off wearing a helmet and had them with a modular full crash helmet with cool max padding.

Git used to if from the start and it don't bother you and yer butt is covered.
Now its mandatory that you have to take a riders course and they make you wear a helmet. Seen people go down just takin it and hit their face on the ground.
But its yer life , so you can do what you want........:banghead:

I hit a deer going about 62-65 driving my friend's SUV. It came across 3 lanes on the other side, jumped two railings and then halfway across my side. I don't know how the hell it made it across the highway, it was somewhat heavy traffic. It came from nowhere, no warning, I luckily stay cool in emergency, steered away as best I could and banged it on its rear. If I had reacted any slower, it would have been head on, probably killing us all by flying through the windshield. The crazed beast just ran away! Around $1500 in damages, could have been much worse though. Now, I'm extra, extra careful in deer country.

Rode up 1988 from the house. A Big Old Bull with his horns stickin out and his head straight up in the air on the side of the rode popped out today.
He had his head up like one of those bulls that a madador throws his red cape at.
I slowed down and stopped in the road, Blew my new Bad Boy Air horn and made him back away from the road.
Whew he was a Big En.
Run him back in the hole in the fence he came out of. He would of been bad to colide with. A deer would of been nothin compared to him.

In the area that I live, it is more common to see the deer out at night. I am not saying that you do not see them, but it seems that they have a tendency to stay away from roads during the day. Also, deer around here lurk more when it starts to get to colder, they are looking for other food supply so they migrate. Again, this is not always the case, but just how they behave in nowhere land of Minnesota.
