I thought if you had the great auto-tune feature you never needed to see a dyno?

I've bought 4 new bikes. They suxed as stock. I was never happy with them,
Harley should build a bike with more power for the money they charge...

I've always enjoyed racing things . And I hot rod my bike.
    This will never quit.
When I was a teenager and had a job. I spent every penny I could make on the drag strip.
Its hard to git that out of yer blood.

If you bought a bike and just changed the pipes and air kit probaly so.

But when you start putin combinations of parts together. You change timing and AFR's and it needs a good dyno to git all this right.
A auto tune unit can only work as well as the 1st map in it.
The 1st map will control the timing.
Timing does a lot of things. It can increase the CP as well and control when yer bike fires.

I'm really happy with the new 103 and the Haley Super Race Tuner, plenty of power and runs so smooth. I love the way the bike runs and the V&H new headers work really good with it, gives it even a bit more power and a better deeper sound. Plus I don't have to buy starters as the stock starter works great. :D

Auto tune is great. Thundermax has the best.

But if you talk to any dyno man or builder, you need to know what combination of parts you are puttin together,
The folks that have units like the Thundermax or PCV only have a map for the setup that they have dynoed.
They don't have a map for every setup.
This is where the dyno man comes in.
But finding a good dyno man is hard too.
When you change parts you change a lot of the things in the computer.
I'm not good at explainin this but if you got HotRoadKing he is.

If you stay around bikes longer you will come to understand this.

Is yer bike near stock. Then you don't have nothing to talk about.
Does yer bike put out a lot of power. The combination of parts I have needs to be put into perspective.
Give me time to go to Wolfgang and git my bikes timing right and it will change the crankin pressure too. That is what is helpin wear on the starters.
Not to mention Spyke couldn't put a good starter together.
The problem with the 1st 5 was WHAT ???????????////////

They leaked oil out the starter appendix.
The last one the starter motor was makin a sound when I got it. It was the1st starter too to have the key switch plug in correctly too. I did a lot of screamin to git their starter this far.
I kept it to see if it was gonna leak oil.

I always thought it was customary to make sure that the parts worked together no matter if there is an Auto tune or thunder max or no computer at all? BTW CB, I did get your email regarding the gauge. Thanx!!!

Mine is not stock, you don't read other posts very well. But it runs and runs and runs. An old biker once told me your bike is just a gas and go, yep it goes and goes. No extra repair time or down time, she just runs and runs and runs. :D

Even if the parts work well together, it still changes the timing and the AFR's
The people makin the maps only has maps for the parts builds that they have dynoed. There isn't a map for every build.
Take the diferent stages of heads, different pistons , differnent throttle body's
Different pipes, different cams and cam durations. Different compressions.
And different strokes. This changes a lot of things with the map and where everything comes together.
And you got ever 256 rpms from start to wide open throttle. And timing changes some here too........

Git a poor set of pipes and it screws all of this up.
A poor set of pipes can screw up a dyno man tryin to dyno a bike from start to WOT.
You can git Blips and can't tune them out.

I will say it again. I ain't normal. I don't like stock bikes.
If it has the power and sound that comes from the factory I wouldn't be happy.
Once you feel the power, you don't want stock again.
Hotroadking has already said something about this too.........

And yer bike was dynoed to put all the build into perspective.
Mind has not had a good dyno man on it.
    It has a can map.
