Sounds good and you have to admire a man that
puts his bike and jack on a nice oriental rug, makes
a good soft and warm place to sit and work on the bike!

My bike workshop is an industrial farm cooler/chiller inside the main farm workshop.

The cooler has not been used for some time, and was empty apart from junk...it is obviously well insulated, so stays warm when working in there in the winter...
The rug..ah yes...must get the cleaners in...got a coule of stains on it :)

I you haven't, weld 4 U joints for tie down hooks to the bottom of the frame

When the bike is up you can use the ties to secure it, bikes fall off lifts all the time
and you don't want it falling on you...

Well all painted up and re assembled.

I did not weld any U Bolts on, as I have another plan.

There is not a clear photo, but the top of the lift has two lengths of 1 inch bar, at the same spacing as the two bits of U channel section that is part of the bike frame. The lift slots into these channels, leaving enough room to clamp the bike to the lift. At present it is done with 4 stainless steel pipe/jubilee clips, but I do plan to use a plate/threaded bar or bolt and hook system.

Pity about the colour though...but it was all I could find kicking about the workshop.
Will get on to the beer shelf later this week:)

Total cost of this project...the cost of the gas and the welding wire...and I used a mates welder :) so actual outlay in drinking vouchers = £000...which I believe is the same in US Dollars

No - the color looks good - it accents the decor of the room - and after a few to many long necks - it will make it easier to tell the diffence between the bike and the lift. Wouldn't do to mount a carb on the lift ya know!:roflmao::roflmao:
