I say South Dakota! I agree before or after Sturgis! A motel is where I will be sleeping, I don't do tents.

Hill City (SD) has the best quilt store in the world. I know some of the OLs out there will like that. :D The KOA in Deadwood is a good place for camping. Or anything. I don't care. Maybe I'll be a famous author by then and I can afford a hotel room. Shoot, maybe I can afford a hotel room for everybody! :roflmao:

My wife would like the quilt store and there is another one in Rapid City. Hill city is a cool town. The KOA in Deadwood is good and there are a lot of hotel rooms. Another fun town. :D

There are lots of nice places and we are going their to ride anyway, soooo makes no difference to me. I say just name the date, time and place of meeting and let everyone stay where they want to. Let's start with a picnic get together and see how it goes from there. just an idea, heck Johnny is in charge.

The more that I think about it, I like Deadwood. I have no idea why, but it seems to be a real popular spot other than Sturgis. Rapid City is another choice but then we would have ride a ways both ways to get anywhere. Thoughts anyone?

Deadwood is a popular place, Rapid City has a KOA also but Rapid City gets really HOT. Everytime I have been there the place was like an oven. Deadwood is a longer ride to the black hills but closer to Sturgis and Devils Tower. But, who wants to spend a lot of time in Sturgis. Custer is a ways out unless all you want to do is ride the Black Hills. Keystone is another good location with hotels and camping at Kemps campground and does not get as hot as Rapid City. Spearfish is a good town but to far west. Just some thoughts.

It is called KOA for short Kampgrounds of America. They are in every state and are known for nice clean camping. Swimming pools (not that I want anyone to see this body ) You can usually count on them to be a good place to camp with lots of amenities.

Ok fellow Bike Talk Members, I guess I am in favor of being in a central location so we are close to the Black Hills so we can get some nice scenic riding in. Suggestions?

Deadwood is a very popular place, it's like other small gambling town, things are a little pricier than some of the other places, it does have a couple of nice roads in and of it. Keystone is the smaller between Hill City and Keystone, both are nice places, Custer is out a little farther but probably the largest small town of the 4. All have great roads for riding. I agree Rapid City gets very warm as does Sturgis, sometimes over 100 degrees and both are on the edge of the plains.
Get your map out or mapquest Johnny and pick some places to vote on.
