You could have two, early in the year a west coast meet

Later in the year, an East Coast meet in the TN or NC Mountains...

Woa, its 85 at your place already today. I think the Coast of Oregon would be a better place, cooler.

Sturgis is about a 1200 mile round trip for me. Wouldn't a place a little more central be a little more accommodating?

Sturgis is also about 1200 mikes for me one way. A central location is going to be a long trip no matter where you put it and you won't be able to accommodate everyone with just a weekend trip, not worth while.

This is true. I like Sturgis as well. I have never been obviously with a bike so I think that would be awesome. next year would be the best to since it almost Sturgis time, it would be difficult for a lot of people to get there on such short notice.

Now, is there a place that we can rent there way in advance so we have a meeting place or is there a spot that is not occupied that much so we all find each other easily?

Sturgis the week before the rally is nice and hotel rooms are 1/2 the price.

Hey, I really like that idea the best. Gives us all a chance to talk, ride, drink without having all of the other hub-bub going on. I guess I would to do a lot of riding during that period with whoever shows up. I was just talking to the wife and she is worried about all of the nudity and stuff like that, which I understand, but if we do it the week before, we won't have to worry about that.

What does everyone think of that?

Good idea but like sleepy and some others we usually camp so don't have a clue as to a motel/hotel. Wife and I are probably going to go to Sturgis next year. I like Spearfish area like Sleepy does but there are other good areas around.

I like the Sperefish area too from what I remember of it. So what do you think would be the best time to get up there. Well, wouldn't you think that for those that do not camp, could book their Hotels or whatever when prices are still cheep, even if it runs into Sturgis a little bit?

Deadwood is another fun place to go, has hotels. Spearfish has hotel/motels to. But we have not heard from Chuck, and even Cowboy????

sturgis is just like any mid sized city you get in the vicinity of 500,000 people or so and like any town that size there are places you go and there are places that maybe you don't want to go. As far as showing skin goes it's a lot more family friendly than it used to be. It can be a little busy and there are a tonne of bad riders there during the rally but it is a lot of fun. The week before the rally can be quite busy as the folks show up early so the week before is for all intents and purposes is part of the rally schedule. I'd prefer the rally week as normally my wife an I tour and catch part of the rally on the way back.
