I was trying to figure out how far you were from goose's place...he did the ride up to Sturgis. I checked the map..he's a couple of hundred miles south of you.

Figured you were closer to the water... it is a bit of a ride and I hear ya about getting the time off. I've kind of lost touch with Goose..great guy and a highly highly highly skilled rider. He did Sturgis a bunch of years back on an old Suzuki Twin....didn't take him long to get up there. I don't think there were too many of us that could keep up with him when he was in a hurry and he wasn't reckless, just smooth and fast.

Goose lives right in Port Lavaca.or at least he did...too bad I lost touch with him. I remember the one year we met in Sturgis, one of his neighbors made home made Tamales that she froze..Goose had 'em in a cooler and made it to Sturgis before they went bad..we cooked 'em over a fire at the campground. we had guys from Minnesota that brought homemade beer..folks from Wisconsin, California, Canada, I think Goose had the big ride but he was faster than the rest of us anyway.

We Minnesotans like to make our own beer. My dad and I have brewed enough to get drunk on for a solid year. YUMMY!

I made malt for a living and I've got a pretty good handle on beer and this stuff was outstanding.

If I remember he kind of gave up on Bike Talk as I thought I remember him saying that it was going to much Harley. It did but there have been some other really great topics and rides posted here to.

I remember meeting up with him in Laughlin that one year sleepy when you, Kevin and I rode down there. That was also my first time meeting CD.

As was mentioned before, someone needs to ramrod this. Not me, I am still looking into donations for the troops, as I mentioned in another post. Since this would be an 'Official' bike-talk meet, one or more of the owners would need to sign off on this.

I like the concept though, I can imagine sitting around a fire talking BS with a lot of you folks. Would be great! (hold the hangovers)!

I'm up for a meet or even setting up a place here in the forums dedicated to getting the logistics done for smaller group meets more localized to each region. Time is tight for me right now but I'll certainly do what I can to help get organized.

As far as "Official" Bike-Talk meet, I'm more of an "unofficial" kinda guy. Anything that stirs up the need for legalities or disclaimers is the type of stuff that can kill an idea like this quickly. Call it something that doesn't imply that Bike-Talk has some sort of liability and I'm fine. If tagging this with a name is important then something along the lines of "Friends of Bike-Talk" or Bike Talk Member Ride" might be better. Just steer clear of that "official" word.

Personally I think "Friends Of Ken Interstate Ride" has a ring to it, since the acronym would be FOKIR
    J/K :p

Well, I think that we need to set something up for next year.....By then I will have a new bike, a trailer and the time to do it......Now all we need to do is really come to an agreement of where to have this meet and how much of it we are going to have Cardboard pay for!!!:D:eek:
