Looks like I'll be missing school today because of this dang cold. Everyone who has had it at school says it's about 2 weeks of misery. Oh well, I'm sitting here listening to Mannheim Steamroller in the man cave and sucking down herb tea. Life is good!

Later today, I'll have to cancel my little mini concert with the old folks in the rest home. I guess that bothers me more than anything else. (See "Aarrgg! Christmas Already" thread in The Soap Box). I was really looking forward to it, and I think they were, too. But they will have other entertainers. We all do it free of charge, of course, and we get to play whatever we like, as long as we like, or until the powers that be kick us out!

Man, that's a lot of OJ! I been drinking copius amounts of tea and taking plain ol' aspirin. The aspirin really helps a lot - doesn't suppress the immune system like some of the other cold medicines.

Mac the wife has been very sympathetic toward me - making all kinds of good things to eat and generally treating me like royalty.

Feel better Josh! Santa is coming we don't need him spreading that dang cold throughout the world! Ha! BTW: If I drank that much OJ it wouldn't just be p that would keep me in the latrine all day! Yech!!

Ha-ha! I've been eating only one orange a day - as I usually do.

Mac is in the kitchen making us a big batch of home fries. Brother, let me tell ya, that's comfort food to die for! She has this huge cast iron skillet she uses. She is also making her WF dog treats. She keeps the local vet supplied with them. Yesterday, she made a yummy coffee cake.

She just now walked into the cave and asked me if I would like to have some bisquits to go with the taters!

Woke up and dicovered Mac now has the cold. Dang, the ol' girl looks pitifull this morning. Well, guess it's my turn to play nurse. We definitely don't want to pass this on to her 83 year old mother, who lives with us.

I managed to get through one class today . . . came home for a lunch of black bean soup, laid down a few minutes and didn't want to get up again! so I didn't. I'd already been up since aroud 5 AM. I think I wore myself out before I even went to school. I'll go back tomorrow and try again . . .

I really hope no more of you guys get this. I'm gonna eat popcorn and watch Hopalong Cassidy movies till I pass out on the couch!

Hope you guys get over the bug... sounds like bad stuff. Wife and I volunteered at High School last night to judge senior projects. Youngest going through that... one more step to empty nest. Out of town tonight on business ... don't like being away from home ... guess I am getting old and set in my ways... gonna spend a few minutes on Bike Talk then hit the rack. ;)

Ha-ha! Yeah, we have a lot of the old cowboys on DVD or cassette. Gene Autry, Lash Larue, Hoot Gibson, etc. Some of those guys were pretty tough hombres, too.

In bike news, so far I haven't gotten my carb parts from CV - they were shipped USPS about 10 days ago.:gah:

I see you were a real fan! And there was Johnny Mack Brown and the Lone Ranger & Tonto. As I remember, the Lone Ranger was current in the 50s on TV and on Saturdays you could watch the old cowboy movies. I also remember Zorro slashing his Z on some guy's forehead. Those guys were gnarly!

Well, boys, the carb parts arrived today and I quickly assembled the carb and installed it. Two primer kicks and one with the ignition on did the trick - started right up! Let the beast idle for a couple minutes. No apparent leaks of any kind . . . . until . . . . I saw oil dripping out of the bottom of the rotor once again. It's actually worse than it was before. It also overflowed the oil collector/engine breather, so it's coming out of both ends. I expected it to overflow since the bike has been sitting a while, but I was surprised to see the oil leak at the seal again.
Good news is that the carb works. I am at my :witsend: with the oil seal leak. :gah:
