Drawing & sketching is useful in the trades as well, as you probably already know. In my shop classes, I teach sketching & drafting for a while in the beginning of each school year. The kids learn how to visualize and build their shop projects from their drawings. Considering how many can't even read a tape measure when they start out, it's a challenge! They are required to make a sketch with dimensions of everything they make in shop.

That's okay. You boys got talent in other things, that's for sure. Yesterday I was bored, having nothing left to do on my bike, so I ground off the starter ring on my clutch basket. That thing is heavy hanging so far off the end of the tranny shaft. I figured that a few ounces less weight spinning around is a good thing.

Even your photo of the gear and sprockets is artfully displayed on an old table with books......makes the viewer want to peek around the room to see other treasures. You are an artist first and foremost, Joshbob.

Johnny, got a lot more to do yet. Oil tank, exhaust. I'm going with a set of Paughco upsweeps for shovel and will install baffles in the ends for a little back pressure. Then it's a bunch of little things; getting and hooking up brake lines, oil lines, electrical, etc.

JoshBob, you are gonna wish you had a front fender the first time you accidently hit a wet spot in the road and dirty water sprays in yer face!, been there, done that, decided to put my fender back on. The mud and water seem to always find their way directly into yer eyes when riding.

JoshBob, I know this a matter of preference, but check out the pipes that these guys have for a shovelhead. YOu can get duals ore even 2 into 1's. I like fishtails as well, but this bike would be way sweeter and meaner looking with a set of these on them. JMO. Check em out. If it brings you to the first page of the exhaust section, click to page three then it will show the ones for the shovel. </title> </head> <body bgcolor="black" topmargin="0" bottommargin="0"> <div align="center"> <table width="64" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"> <tr> <td><img src="http://bike-talk.com/forum/images/header.jpg" alt="" height="89" width="770" border="0"></td> </tr> <tr>

OK, I tested the link and it brings you to the page to where the pipes for the shovel are on it.

I looked at those before also but they would be WAAAY too loud.
If your neighbors are bikers too then go for it.
    Very cool looking tho!

Congratulations Tommyc! All three of your daughters are very cute. Looks like the world is your oyster!
Johnny, those would be too short & too loud for me, though I know you like loud pipes! In N.C., you have to have some kind of mufflers on the exhaust to pass inspection. I might be able to get away with baffles on the upsweeps - they wouldn't be nearly as loud. They take a dim view around here on "noisy" bikes. No doubt, those are some B.A. pipes, but not for me.
Cowboy, thanks for the pics. I couldn't tell how wide the tank was across its widest point. If it's more than 10 1/2", it will be too wide for my frame.
