Crane, daytona twin tech all make adjustable ignitions for Carb bikes

S&S makes one called the IST that does the adjusting for you, has a knock sensor and temp sensor, I run it on my 124 works great.

Do you have a link for the S&S ignition you were talking about? My bike has really been acting up on this trip, and the description of some of the things the Crane system fixes are what I'm dealing with. I've been told it's the altitude, but some of it was already there before the trip. The self-adjusting feature sounds like the way to go.

S&S Cycle Home Page - Welcome, the IST is a great system JMO, some tuners don't like it because they can't advance the timing more to make different power or retard it.

Case in point tuner cranked up the Crane Hi-4 on a 113 elbruto so far it made 6 more HP but, it created tons more heat and caused big engine problems, in fact a total rebuild from scored pistons. It was past the 32 max the manuf said you could go.

My IST works great, it learns the bike and your riding and sets the curve for the motor, temp sensor and knock sensor help control timing.

Search the web for a good place to buy at a discount.

is that an evo or twincam its not fair to blame one component without more info was it broke in properly what was the a/f ratio. on the hi4tc you can get software and a connector and write your own advance curve sounds more like an inexperienced tuner problem than a component problem
