Some stuff from Drag Specialties. I will take a pic and post it. Basically their equivalent to HD Formula+

That would be fine...Basically Formula+ and Drags is a gear oil with the right additives for wet clutches....brand is not important, but the type is....ATF wouldn't hold up in a tranny for very long...

    Hmmmmmmm

    I'm Scared.

I bought a Barnett Scorpion Clutch last year. Think it was november.
The stock clutch wouldn't hold the power of the 107 build with the head work and increased compression.
I called Barnett myself. They said use whatever primary oil you want to use.
I haven't used formula plus in over 5 yrs in anything I've had.

And one of the Harley dealers has put several of the Barnett Scorpion clutch's in.
They put SE 20-50 synthetic oil in it.

I been using that and Moble one Full synthetic.
Got over 8000 miles on the clutch too.

I just do what I'm told. After all I'm married.
The ATF type "F" I've been using for over 15 thou. seams OK. What I really like is it's only $4.50 a quart. hehe

Been married 4 times. Don't do nothing I'm told. I'm an adult too. And I know more about a lot of things than the wife does. Except finance and how to invest money.

Mobile one oil at Walley World it like 10.00 a quart.
IN the newer bikes you put 38oz in. Is that really that expensive when you change it about every 5000 miles ?

I been using mobile one in3 bikes for over 100,000 miles since 07.

I put Type F ATF in the primary of the Heritage with the Scorpion, but not in the tranny and just dump a bottle of 10-40 dino motosickle oil in the primary of the King with the stock clutch, both trannys get 75-90 gear oil...

I never use the Harley oil. I use SAE 50 Valvoline racing oil in the motor and Valvoline 75/90 synthetic gear oil in the tranny. It's all good.

Thanks guys for the input. My Sportster is running great again. I did have to change the slide as well as I had a small pinhole in the diaphragm. Now it is just a matter of working out the old gas that's in the tank and I am confident that she will rip. Had it to 90+ already today and I must say, it was music to my ears.

It's nice to see guys putting heavy weight gear oil in the trans. I usually put 80-140 in mine cause it shifts so much nicer, smoother, and less clunky. I recently put in that Redline stuff. It looks like Pepto-Bismal and it costs 17 bucks a quart and I don't like the way it shifts. The tranny clunks too much, and it the shifter paw sticks when it's cold - so I'm eventually going to go back to heavy weight gear oil.
