If it drug when you turned over you might have a starter problem.

OK the lights stayed on but the starter didn't click.

    1) Ignition might be bad
    2) starter switch might be bad
    3) wire problem (broken)
    4) bad starter solenoid.

You should have a wire going to the starter that is the signal wire from the start button
disconnect it, put the meter on it, with the ignition off it should read 0, then turn on ignition, it should still be zero, press button to start, it should jump to 12.5 or higher or close to that number.

    1) Get voltage, = starter circuit, button and ignition and battery good
    2) Get no voltage - go on the hunt, check the circuit back to the battery for
where it's dropping. My guess would be relay.

If you get voltage and the battery is good at the starter, then it's probably the
    starter/solenoid.

no head light no indicator no dash . sounds like a main breaker that feeds the ignition run start circuit is open with no current . but there is power for accesories side . if there is no power to feed the run circuit its not going to send power to the starter relay coil . to turn the motor . or feed the hot side of the ignition . check breaker or fuse link sounds like it pop during jigh amperage load might have a dead short and the breaker wont reset till ya find it.

dude its been a long time since i looked at a sporty . most harleys have a main breaker to feed the batt side (hot all the time ) even with igniton off .fuse and ign panel . or a main fuse link that feeds the bat side of these circuits . follow the main bat cable that goes to the fuse panel and ignition switch feeds off that possibly a 10 or 12 gauge wire depending if it has been repaired before .youl see a silver small box looking unit with two studs and nuts on it and two wire with circle connectors one is power in one is power out both hot all the time . 12v in 12 v out hope i could help . p.s. get a service manual with a wiring diag . its your best friend on electrical its better to read it before you start your diagnosis.

I got it!! Turns out it was a bad connection at the ignition. Actually one of the spade connectors was in between the casing of the female side of the plug, like it was put on wrong and worked for a while like that. Thanx allot for all your help bros, I really appreciate all the knowledge and advice!! Thanx!!!!!

Now would be a good time to put some electric contact spray on the plugs and all. And put some dialetic grease in them. And I mean a very small amount.

And if you got a loose spade connector, tighten it up.

Glad you worked till you found the problem.;)
