Just a brief update. I haven't been able to get anywhere with this for some time now. Other things happening. I did decide on where I am going to go for the work to be done though. Other than that, status quo.

With other things in life coming up, I have started to think about the direction that I want to take with this project. I'm considering using my current cases. I haven't really come to a reasonable consensus as to why other than cost.

hd cases will work up to a point
but they are not made to sustain
    really big bulk cubes

when you bore them out for the big cyl
youo wont have much material left
between them in fact the machine shop
better know what they are doing with
    stroker conversions and tc cases,

It cuts deep and through the case wall
and V shapes the center bolt, when put
back together you have to make sure the center top
bolt is locked in position, it rotates and you can't
    get the cyl in.

you can do it, I did, but it's the weak link

Well since I have the Sportster engine pretty much figured out to what I am going to do with it, I am turning my attention back to the 117 project.

Since my last post I have decided on using the S&S cases. Fug it, let's do it right. I also have decided on the cams that I want to use which are the Fueling Reaper 594's. There has been a lot of hub bub about the Dan Thayer cam plate and oil pump over on HTT. I am not convinced that the expense of that set up is really worth it or not so I am opting to go with the SE plate and pump. I think that may have scored a really good deal on the set up as well.

As far as the heads are concerned, utilizing the 110 heads, stock intake valve, I am looking to increase the exhaust valve. Now I haven't measured it yet but if it is under 1.625, I will have that punched to that size. I will have the valve geometry corrected as well.

Scott is not an option. He is a nice dude but there is an awful lot of controversy about him lately.

I would contast this dude. Know he is good.
Would ask him what all he will do.
Know he can do it all. He has been in the race world.

But I DO NOT know all of what you are looking for in your build.

That thread is from 2010. Big deal. Cardboard, going to Hillside just isn't an option so you might as well leave it alone.

I have spoken to Scott and I think that he is a nice dude, let's just leave it at that.;)
