    Oh wow, excellent info. Thanks.
I put mine on with blue. I'm running a 93" shovel. How will I know it the nut comes loose? Will it start knocking?
Next question: Why is the mainshaft on my 4speed tranny a reverse thread??

If the primary belt on my bike breaks how will I break loose the nut on the engine mainshaft? Will I need to make a special tool?
I have the special tool to hold the clutch shell.

You'll know because right after it does you
hear a bunch of clanging noises and you say
    "shidt" out loud...

So you won't say "oh shidt" out loud

    Keeps the basket on,

    thats why you use red.

Or you might see it back off slightly,
then it doesn't have full clamp and it beats
the inside of the rotor out (I've seen that happen twice)

Remember tq and clamp are two different things.

HRK look at the pic of my blus bike above. Notice the 2 coils on the left side of the motor? I want to move the forward coil to the right side of the bike and mount it on the seat post frame tube. That way it will be just opposite the location of the standard coil.
do you forsee any problems with that idea?
My goal is clean up the view of the engine on the left side. The forward coil blocks a lot of the view of my sexy, handsome and becautiful shovelhead motor.

Yeah, the first thing I got rid of was the huge stock aircleaner and got a chopper Dave one. It's only 4" in dia. and doesn't obstruct the view of the motor or the old butterfly Keihin carb. Anything you can do to unclutter the view of your engine the better. Yeah, those shovels are sexy ol' things! Mac the Wife thinks so, too!

Just 2 or 3 drops of red....you may have to take it apart again sometime...you need to use heat or impact to loosen a nut locked on with red...use heat on the comp nut not an impact gun...an impact could loosen the rotor magnets.

Oh, yeah, red locktite on that sucker! I think it was Chucktx who recommended to me to use a rubber sanding block for a "chain locking tool". I have one and will use it instead of spending $40 on a real one.

Hey, that's a good tip Josh and Check! The proper tool is only $14.95, but the choice is yours.
Chuck, that's what I thought, it was reverse so it would be tightening itself whild spinnng.
So my question is why isn't the comp nut reverse thread also????

It would have made a lot of sense, no?
I'm sure there must be some reason for it.

don't see why you can't relocate it
as long as it's mounted, grounded and properly connected
