I just open a couple of windows and turn on my 1940's window fan in the summer. It's the kind that will lop off a finger if you stick it through the guard - gotta love the old tech! In winter I build a fire in the woodburner.

Haha! It does need to be grungy, but you can only produce so much in 7 years! The only thing I'm really fastidious about is my tools.

You could also insulate those open walls and then sheet rock it. That will help keep the heat in during the winter and the cool in during the summer. :D I know always thinking like a home inspector.

There you go giving him another project lol

Probably a good idea to insulate, then you can stay out there longer!

I've gotten attached to that avatar! Haha! As far as finishing the inside, well, maybe when the bike is finished. But that's beginning to look like a long while yet.

Joshbob, don't do any more to the shop--it's perfect. Insulation and drywall will only encourage the wife to come see what you're doing out there. Maybe a TV to watch "Man Caves" or a stereo to listen to the Doobie Bros. and Dire Straites. Besides, how cold can it be in NC?

Hahaha! Not as cold as where you are. I have a boogie box out there and am thinking about moving our mini-fridge out there when it warms up to hold my favorite beverages: water, juice, and beer. (Not necessarily in that order!) Nice pic, BTW.

It's about to come up to 20 degrees and I'm getting ready to roll the bike off the carport for a ride.

High of 16 here in Ontario - roads still full of snow and salt! Al Gore is a moron!!! Global warming my ass :cussing: :cussing:
I moved 3 yrs ago and have a 1 1/2 attached garage and a 20' x 28' shop in the back and all I get is enough space to park the harley. The back shop is party central for my boys and the wife lets me have a spot in the front garage.
This is my old garage that was all mine!!!

That is a really nice shop as well. I really like that lift. Do you mind if I ask what name brand it is and has it worked well for you?

Man, I think JoshBob's shop is about perfect, but BluePearl, your 's looks too nice to do any work in. About that flag hanging on the wall: aren't you worried about terrorists setting fire to the place? You guys are really making me feel deprived. My problem is that I have no more room to build--just a tiny .15 acre lot and a lot of trees.

It was from Princess Auto ( Canada's -Harbour Freight) and was a good basic lift, except had to swap out the wheels to actually roll the bike around!

As for the boys their goin on 22 (yes twins) and better be gone soon! Then I will have the back shop all to myself and start my workshop/mancave
