I agree to a point Cardboard, I LOVED my Sportster and it was the 100th anniversary model, very sharp lookin'. If I had my own garage, I'd never have sold it. I used to enjoy riding Italian scooters around town, for groceries and for work, very easy to handle and park on the street. they kept getting stolen, so I upped to Harley's. I'd like something I don't mind leaving on the street (locked with chains, of course). My garage is 3 blocks away and my Street Bob is stored in the floor below the main floor, so I have to wait for one of the guys there to bring a service elevator down to bring me up to the street level. This all takes 15-20 minutes and sometimes I'd like to just go out my door and be riding in only a couple of minutes. Since I'm a "Harley" guy, I figured the Sprint cpild be fun, but that's why I'm researching, it could look cool but be quite crappy or a bad fit for my 6'5" frame.

By the way, that restored 6k one on ebay was nonsense, I've seen plenty of them for $1500 to $3000.

The 67 Hellboy has the link to on ebay has the shifter on the right, a buddy of mine has a 1956 KH with ride side shift...can throw you off a bit getting used to it... first time on it I pulled away pulled in the clutch and hit the brake lol...sometime in the early 70's it was changed so all bikes have left side shift

It's worse driving on the wrong side of the road. When I drove in England for a few days, it was spooky, especially on the circles in London, yikes!

Unfortunately, that would be a problem - it would be like going back to your Sportster - times 2 :banghead: There are 3 Sprints guys have picked up for the fun of it & to run @ the measured-mile track @ Maxton, NC & the tallest rider is about 6'2" - but he's also a teenager & skinny as a rail. With the flat bench type seat you could slide back enough to zip around town, but I think you'd get cramped real quick. Neat bikes though - pretty easy to work on & they seem to be tough too, judging from the guys making modifications to make 'em run over 100 mph - haven't seen one break yet!

Hi Art, great to hear from you, how've you been? I think you're right, it's a cool fantasy, but probably just too damn small. I'll find something cool eventually. No rush though, I'm still making payments on my Dyna !

Didn't think about it being personal.

Sorry, I just look at how much interest people hammer you on.
Interest will eat yer lunch. And if you double up on payments you can save a little in the end.

Talked to our friend Ricky and he did it and he's glad I got him to do it.:D

I was doing fine, but was out of work the entire summer and still haven't caught up yet, so all I can make is the minimum payment for a few months. It sucks, but I'm grateful to be working and paying off anything.

Can't complain - and if I did, wouldn't nobody listen to me anyway :roflmao:

Yeah & there's another thing to consider - you can't just run a Sprint over to a dealer for service work & wait on it, parts are harder to get & you really need to be able to work on any part of the bike yourself. There were 250 & 350 cc versions, "long rod" & "short rod" engines, etc. Not a big deal if you've got a garage & good selection of tools, but without both you'd be @ the mercy of some mechanic probably a long way from where you live.
