Hey CB, did you even read your own link from D&D? If not, go the part where it talks about pipes that use discs. This is just another ugly useless 2 into 1 system. :cussing::rant:

Don't think you know what yer complainin about.

Supertrapp does good on Dyno's dude.

Supertrapp pipes are good pipes. Now if you don't like em that's something else.

Don't worry about Supertrapp pipes, they do great. So does D&D.

I do belive johny does not like the look of the 2into1 pipes & he's after looks , I will say that supertraps are about the best I've seen for performance ,My bro-in-law runs them on his dyna he's had his bike about 10 years & just put a new set of the same on it when he did his 95in kit

I'm just throwing stuff out there for Johnny to look at. The more stuff he can look at the better decesion he can make. Its like walkin into a candy store.
Who knows what he might find. You know whey you start lookin, something might happen and yer thought process might change.
Look how many people started on a sporty and is no a bagger now.
People change as they ride a bike for one reason or another.
Johnny is gonna have to go with what he likes and what makes him happy, just like anybody else.

When you git pipes, its about looks, sound, or performance.
Got a buddy that just got a new 11 Road Glide Ultra, he was talkin about 2in1 pipes and was at I believe Jims cycle, and they tole him, ya know why some people don't like a 2in1 on a bagger, I said yea, they got to see the other pips come out over there on the other side.
But a 2in1 makes it easier to work on the bike, take the pipes off and most of all it helps the bike run better.
What you hear from most people oh is they want their bike to perform better and run better.
If you want yer bike to perform better, than why not put something that helps it operate better.

And at one time yer gonna git tired of listening to the Thump in yre ears if you ride very much. Or if its makin it a little quieter to come in a neighborhood, or for sound requirements.
The Trapps give you a option to adjust that thump and sound some while retaining some performance.
If you want better performance git Bassani or D&D pipes, but are you young and can you handle the thump when you ridre 250 or so miles in a day. There has to be a happy medium.
    Supertrapp falls into that medium.
They even make pipes the metric bikes really like too. Not to mention the dirt bikes.

    CB,

Please do not misunderstand, I really do like the fact that you throw all of this stuff out there. It does help. But click on this link and scroll down until you see the discs, (like the ones) that SuperTrapp uses, read the info that is posted. It is not all about looks for me, it does play a role, but the main issue that I have with the STP's is that they just really do not offer anything for the year that my bike is. Second, for what they do offer, yes, they are ugly as sin, and for the last thing, I have always had a sneaking suspicion that the overall design of the STP's was sort of junk. The following link proves it to a point.

    The link proves NOTHIN.
You can't compare Total race bikes with super big engines to normal everyday riding bikes.

Don't you think one pipe mfg trashs other pipe mfg.
If you had a 131 engine or something I would be telling you to put a D&D Bozrilla pipe on.
    SuperTrapps ain't junk.
    Supertrapps have been dyno proven.
Believe what you want Redneck. I didn't start riding last week oh.
When you want a good pipe but want to be able to tone the sound down, supertrapp offers that option. Or you can take the closed cap out and make it louder too.
My buddy the builds race bike had a D&D header and a SuperTrapp Pipe.

Ugly is in the eye of the beholder ......

Just look around at what I throw out there and see what all you find.
But beware of claims some folks make too. Advertising can be deceiving.....
    Dyno's tell the truth.
You have to find a happy median.
Unless yer young. They looks and sound overpower everything.

I guess when I am talking about custom exhaust, I am talking about pipes that are made specially for that bike. Any ideas other than 2 into 1?

Duals, stepped headers with a cross over..

Find a pro exhaust shop for bikes that knows Vtwins big issues

need to know a lot to make up a custom set

IF you don't care about power, you can do whatever you want, AKA Paulie JR pipes...

Fight it Johnny, no pipe will run like a 2in1.
YOu have to settle for less power. YOu need reverb too.
Pipe mfg, spend a lot of money and time to design the pipes....:banghead:

Depends we had a member here that loved to debate the 2-1 issue.

they work well for baggers and big twins because they make power typically
in the normal riding power band, but they are not the end all be all of power...

Have friends that make duals for their bikes and end up with more
power than any two into one but they are purpose built,

RB makes nice and LOUD pipes, they are difficult to deal with and slow on
delivery - at least anyone that has ordered from them says so.

I doubt you'll see two to four HP difference at peak between
most of them, the key is getting the TQ curve up, the disk system
pipes tend to help because you can tune the exhaust to bump the
    curve...

The two into ones usually have a big dip right after 2000 RPM then run
back up. Thunderheaders are famous for it.

Then there's the noise factor, when you go out and do a lot of riding in a day it tend to wear on you.:gah:
I've had D&D and buddy's with the Bassani, they beat you up with the thump in a day.
Think Duals pipes would look Good on Johnny's Sporty.
A pipe running down each side with Fishtails on the ends.:roflmao:
He will be different fer sure and in his power range too......

Hell I must just be gittin too old.......:wtf:
I like riding in a Lincoln ...........
