screw it to the bottom..LIGHTLY!! then back it out 2 1/2 turns.....the bike must be warmed up.....about 10 miles of running the road at about 2500 rpm. if it still sputters then back it out 1/4 turn and try again. you shouldnt need to back it out over 3 1/4 turns. if you do you need bigger jets............

chucktx, TY for the assistance, I wound up changing the mid jet to 145 from 142 as well, it now responds to idle jet adjustments correctly, kudos

Glad you got it....It's the pilot jet you changed from a 42 to 45...

I just found your post about the triangular brass piece you found in your carb. I too found one exactly like yours when I dissassembled my CV carb. Have looked all over the internet and finally found your reference to it. I have the original shop and parts manuals for my bike and it doesn't show up in any breakdown shown. So I was surprised and happy to see the comment/response from your local Harley shop that it was not a part of the carb. Strange though that it would show up in at least two of them. My bike is a 90 Electra Glide Classis that I bought new; the carb has never been worked on in a shop.

That's interesting. I've had my CV carb apart several times and never saw a triangular brass piece. Not in the service manuals either . . . strange . . .
