By the way FLHTbiker the Island is 26 miles long and 16 miles wide, does not sound big but plenty of roads to explore. They just built a highway through 2 sides of the island, use to go from the airport to our village it took 1 3/4 hours by car, now it takes just under 45 minutes. the back roads are a nice ride but if you want to blast it is the highway to get you there. The picture on my Icon is a waterfall with my bike here, right on one of the back roads.
Again want to thank everyone for there help this is a great site with lots of knowledge bikers

Yeah, the choke would make sense. It will be interesting to find out what the problem was. It may have got ruffed up during transport.

When you install the intake manifold using the carb and air cleaner bracket for alignment is as important as the torque spec imo. The flanges will most likely bottom out on the head with new seals and everyone lined up. Thinking 5/16 bolt around 20 ft/lb and a little blue l/tite. In a perfect world = torque wrench, or a good feel works as well if you have to. Everything to a cut off allen wrench and a box wrench to a factory tool we can do it all HOOORAAA. ok I got a little carried away, lol

I rode a motorcycle around the island of Guam when I was 19. Was a lot of fun back then. Found a water falls there where the water was a milky white color. Slept on the beach at night with a camp fire.

They had a saying on Guam that there was a girl behind every tree, just had to find the trees.

Hey Bambidee, Thanks for the info, I did see that on another site about lining up the Carb and backing plate before tighting the manifold bolts. Real hard to get a torque wrench in there, guess I am going to go with Hotroadking thinking, "Armstrong". Parts are do here Wednesday keeping my fingers crossed cause I what to ride :)

You'll also want to lube the manifold O ring(what you push the carb into) and the intake seals with dish soap,Vaseline something similar so they won't bind or pinch...

Any new news on your scooter? Is there any way the air cleaner element got spooged and causing the rich condition?
