Not sure what everyone else's experiences have been, but I was working on a friends bike that had a Dakota Digital Speedo Cluster that was fried from the battery voltage jumping to 18 volts.

This is the second problem that the girl has had in 10 years with the speedo. I do not recall what was wrong the first time, but the part was obsolete and they sent her the upgrade for $50 shipped. This time they repaired the unit for $30 plus shipping. Not bad considering a lot of places would have just sold her a new unit for about $400.
