We hit 75 today and Maddog and I rode home in T-shirts today. Not bad for us.

I feel stupid. Canceled the ride and it didn't rain a drop.

Don't feel bad it hit 75 again today but Maddog was getting a front tire put on his bike so we went and spent the afternoon at an indoor shooting range. Shooting is always good but what a waist of good weather.

The riding window is quickly shutting for the year here. Much after November 1st (a week away), its over for the most part. Hope to get in that ride to Lake Placid just yet.

When I lived near Philly I used to ride my Kowi LTD 1000 down to 20 degrees. I used to wear ski bibs and snow boots and was warm and comfy. The bike had to be run on half choke at that temp cause it would stall at the lights. I don't ride much below 40 anymore. Guess I'm gettin old.

This weekend is the Palm Springs American Heat Rally. It'll be 95 this weekend. Just to let you know. hehehe

Had a Kowi LTD 1000 and it would do the same thing in cold temps. Still have my ski bids to. Have fun at the Rally and send pics. :)

Goin' down below freezing tomorrow night. Bringing in all the plants in pots and unhooking our water hoses. Forgot to do that one year and got a busted water pipe.

No ride today - too cold. Wrenched instead and read motorcyle magazines . . ..

Its not so much the temps. They make great equipment and I have most of it. Example like last nite. I by accident did not ride to work because I needed my truck for errands before and after work. I worked midnite to 8a.m. When I got out this morning at 8am it was 28-29 degrees and the roads were wet for some reason. I am so glad I was inadvertantly not riding. What does wet roads and 28 degrees equal?

= too slippery for two wheels! But there are die hards who will ride in just about any weather. For me, the weekend is looking too cold to ride, (freezing mornings and mid 50s daytime) but by the middle of next week temps will start reaching for the 70s again. The farmers are picking cotton in earnest; soon the fields will be bare for winter.

    Bingo!

For me as long as its daytime and the sun is out, 45-55 degrees is tolerable with proper gear. My wife has a heated vets so she's good to go.

I loved North Carolina for the length of time one could ride a bike safely. Definately longer then up here. I think there was a week or 2 in February where there wasn't snow but temps dipped below freezing a smidge. The whole of NC is motorcycle riding country.

We had heavy fog last night and looked like it rained. Sun won't come out today until noon.
